Ya your right when the SL guys started dieing in NC we went over and tryed to stop them geting in town but it was to late.
Re: Defender of the relic rules and guidlines player feedback
It was pointed out to me recently that this server is set up as a giant game of billiards "cut-throat". Whoever seems to be winning at the moment ends up with everyone else against them. When I started on this server, SL happened to be in a very strong position, and consequently guilds like RR and FoN were pretty friendly to each other, to the point where a couple of us RR guys even built FoN toons. Flash forward a few months and suddenly AO/RK is seen as the powerhouse, and I watch toons from all four of the other factions raid together.
You guys can jump on Neil and call him whatever names you want, but let's not pretend what he's saying is baseless. Hell just this week ao/rk has been relatively light on people for various reasons, and SL had the relics more than once. Exactly how many times did the TSS/FoN/CLAD guys take relics away from them?
Goose egg. "0"
In fact when AO/RK did go to raid, TSS went to raid AO while the cats were away.
I'm sure people will come back with various excuses for this, but let's all grow up and not pretend it isn't happening. The other 4 factions will work together against ao/rk and conversely, again just this week, I had a TSS kick me from a party because of my PWnD tag, at the request of a DD. Neil's 2 faction viewpoint doesn't seem all that far-fetched to me.

Yes in normal play and some past relic events this has happened factions banding together to raid one with more numbers I could say more but that would be off topic.
What Neil said about the last relic event is baseless there was no everyone else vs your defenders in RK. MA and SL did not help NC and TC raid RK at all and we never helped them defend.

The relic event hasn't even started and you guys are already making excuses, i love it.
Oh, and the FoN members, they were removed from the guild because of bad behavior. We police our own in FoN. Its a lesson you guys have never learned and that's why the stinky end of the stick gets pointed at you gents all the time.

@ Rainswept: Talking to your information services, you will always get what you wanna hear, especially if you talk to guys like Neil. And you have others with similar delusions of grandeur. While we in the Northern Circle do have such types too, we don't indulge that behaviour, while I'd just toss out this idea: AO/RK certainly wants this behaviour in their ranks (with the notable exception of many HNs), meaning: The bigger the bragging rights the better.
The only fact I heard lately in this thread, is that sometimes factions will band together against another or against an alliance.
But certainly not in a relic war. If you see it that way, you just don't see the reality. Sometimes the things just don't work in your favour.
And there is certainly no love lost for you in AO/RK. But that is entirely your fault. Just adjust your behaviour a bit.

Bunson FoN grabbed a relic on Sunday. He didn't get far with it. But he grabbed it none-the-less. Diego TSS came with bunson a couple times. Isilya raided us a couple times.Rainswept wrote:Hell just this week ao/rk has been relatively light on people for various reasons, and SL had the relics more than once. Again, based on the reputation (server-wide) that your collective group has created, this seems like normal MO for everyone. Aside from that, at the time SL had a good showing of people, and AO was the easier target.Rainswept wrote:In fact when AO/RK did go to raid, TSS went to raid AO while the cats were away.
I like Nyeleni's post about the Information Services thing. There is another truth about 'stats' in general... look hard enough and you will eventually find a trend that you like.
Just leave it all to the event so we can have some fun. Winning isn't everything. We're just here to satiate our battle lust

Battle lust - indeed.
Just one question about the tactic neil brought up (scoring from recaps). This may have been beat to death, but are you still required to have your own relic in order to score?

Holding your own relic in order to score is not a requirement.

All's fair in relic war (except what there are rules against of course).
We can all have personal boundaries, I have them, but it is silly to get bent out of shape about what others do within the confines of the rules, especially in a game.

I resent that. Because I consider myself a guy like Neil. Of course, I get along with the wider majority of the player base than my brother does most of the time. And unfortunately, because I'm his brother, I get punished a lot too. Is it unfair? Yeah. But that's the way it is.Nyeleni wrote:Talking to your information services, you will always get what you wanna hear, especially if you talk to guys like Neil.
Now imagine you're him. How would you feel if you knew you were the reason your brother stopped playing, albeit indirectly. You'd be cold and resentful too. Don't feign understanding of a situation you're not intricately knowledgeable of. Generalizing a person only makes YOU seem egotistical.

Re: Defender of the relic rules and guidlines player feedback
Realativly sure that most consider me a certifible 'Looney Toon', due largely to my twig RP.. And thats ok, the majority still enjoy parting with me for levels and epic runs, as well as the PvP we engage in. That being said, take to following with a grain of salt.
Concerning the Aork reputation, while your practice of a login for nearly every toon created, and the sharing of toons, does give you a tactical advantage in creating confusion among the enemy. It also has a unfortuante effect of making actions from an individual in Aork less accountable to the individual player. "That wasnt me, someone else was playing him!" And while the annonamous toons do shield the individual somewhat, it means that the rest of the server is left a foul taste that can only be attibuted to the Aork collective.
There are some really cool players in Aork, that I enjoy playing with both together in Mod and against in pvp. And its a down right shame that they have to carry the disgrace of some of their less than honerable companions. I would even go so far as to say that this annonamous nature feeds exageration of the genreal communitys bad image of them. I am not saying that your practice of individual logins is wrong or against the rules. Simply that the practice has a few sizeable downsides to it.
As for the occasional practice of banding togerther with an enemy to fight another enemy ive got two quotes.
*The enemy of my enemy is my freind*
*Cut throat tactis are: Enemies band together against the greatest percieved threat*
(if aork often finds themselves the greatest percieved threat, take pride in that)
PS, pwnd in leveling party: over this past cppl years, ive partied with pwnd in the group many times, some times went just fine. Other times a high lvl/40 would find the party in an obsecure part of aetheria and wipe us out. Sometimes even killing the pwnd toon. (w/shouts of "Party with the enmey and you will die too") I can not think of a single instance where that happened when working with a Masl toon. Frankly, inviting a pwnd to the party is like playing russian rullet. Which is a shame, since I like and respect many of your players.
One last and futile quote "Why cant we all just get along"
