Clan Thunderjug

I have been told that some people may be confused as to the meaning of our name, Clan Thunderjugs, or Clan Thunderjug. A brief explanation has been requested to help the uneducated masses understand the origins of our name.

Firstly, a thunderjug is the slang term for a chamberpot. Dwarves are sometimes loose with the language of humans, and the first term we heard for this "chamberpot" was thunderjug, so when our clan name was translated into the common language, we became Clan Thunderjug.

Secondly, dwarves have specific clan functions, and Clan Thunderjug is the maintainer of the King's Thunderjug, so our Clan Name is similar to the Miner clan, the Smith clan, the Forgehammer clan, and others.

Many of our Clan have Azer blood, which is useful, since the preferred method of disposing of the contents of a thunderjug is burning to a fine ash, then washing the jug in the flowing underground rivers near our home caves.

Some of us have started to venture out into the wider world, searching for purpose and meaning, since there is only one "Thunderjug" handler at a time. Most of us are far removed from this hereditary function, but are nevertheless proudof our heritage.
