Announcement of an aspiring new Guild

Post by WarFalcon »

I hereby announce the aspiring Guild to be known as the DRAGON MAFIA

Our intentions are to perform services for the people of the world for a small price.

Need a res? Need Gear? Need a tank or a caster? Need someone hit?

Call us, pay us and we're yours.

We will NOT participate in attacks on Sleeth or Ragnar's Kin, NOR will we carry out hits on Dragons. Neither will we be contracted to steal from other players. Other than that...

No job is too small. Fees are reasonable. We take Gold, Gear, and Goods.

If you are from Sleeth and you want to be a Man or Woman of Respect, look us up.

Official Announcement for AO guild

Post by MLoki »

The 4 members from the Disciples/Guardian/Slave guild have decided to join forces with the Dragon Mafia and it's 7 members in Sleeth. We would like official recognization from the DM's and Developers as soon as you see fit. If you require us to have a tag we may need to remake some characters as we have members with Disciple and Guardian already as well as other names from the Dragon Mafia. Thank you for your support.

Disciple Red
Keeper of Arms

Other Members
Disciple Black
Guardian Kiarra
Guardian Talinth

Dragon Mafia Members to be listed shortly. We will continue to use the Dragon Mafia guild name for all members.

I believe that speaks for itself. So kSt need not fear the members of DCN.

Who's side is the Mafia on?

Post by Guest »

If we have a battlecry it would be:

FOR SLEETH! AND PROFIT!

The Mafia is on the Mafia's side. (And the paying customer of course)

We're just... businessmen. Using our superior Draconic heritage to get along in the world.

Currently we are:

Vermithrax Draconis
Scarlet Draconis
Ezera
Disciple Red
Guido "thumb breaker" Firkraag
Disciple Black
Guardian Kiarra
Guardian Talinth
Spandrel
Grimbold Drakken

More names are on the way, but...

Please note that Guardian or Disciple in the name will not in the eyes of the DMs constitute a guild tag. As had been discussed with others, broad sweeping claims to titles or tags that can be considered normal use will be denied as "official" guild tags.

This does not mean that you can not use them anyway, just that the DMs WILL NOT enforce ownership of that tag. Efforts by guilds making large claims to "enforce" ownership on their own will be viewed as possible harrasment.

DCN

Post by MLoki »

We will gladly use DCN as our official guild tag. We simply require DM assistance to rename characters affiliated with this guild. Since kSt has had it's members moved to AO and all affiliated characters renamed with kSt tags we would simply request the same attention. However, since The Brethren are using tags such as Brother or Sister I fail to see how Disciple or Guardian does not qualify. Since originally I started my AO guild with such tags before faction guilds recieved any benifit what-so-ever. Please respond to our requests either in this post or by PM. Please do not allow the circumstances to appear as though kSt or The Brethren get special attention because they raise more of a fuss about such matters. It's nice that guilds are going to get some benifit from forming official guilds but now that we have done so, it would not be right to the others to revoke those benifits now. Especially since some guilds have already recieved special treatment. Thank you.

The Brethern are not using tags like 'Brother' or 'Sister' to signify guild membership. They're free to use those words in their names of course, but it needs to have something else in it like [BRT] in order to set it apart and clearly designate guild membership.

The point in all this isn't to be difficult, but to prevent folks from not being able to use common names (like Brother, Disciple, etc) in their character names but still provide some enforceable designation to guild members.

Faction Guild Names

Post by MLoki »

Similiar to TSS and the Brotherhood we have several members that were created and named as part of a group before the "Guild Faction Rules" were implemented. The Dragon Mafia had several members with no common tag where my group of AO members were all Disciple something or Guardian something. Now that we are together, if you do require us to change to a common tag we will need some assistance in doing so, but if other guilds are being allowed benifits regardless of name or tag then we simply ask for the same status. Thank you.

As I said, you are free to approach it however you like. If you prefer to use disciple, slave, ect to identitify yourselves you are free to do so. As are the brethren able to use brother/sister for their designation. The DMs however will not enforce this or allow the guild to self enforce that sweeping of a claim.

Confused

Post by MLoki »

Now I am confused. As we stand right now with a spattering of names with no common link, will we be recognized by the DMs/Dev as an official Clan? If not, how can we go about fixing the characters we currently have to include the DCN tag we have agreed upon? and as for other characters we have that we may wish to include in the guild how can we go about getting those characters switched over to AO as well? These are all things that have been done previousy to either fix names that are affiliated with a different faction or to transfer characters that are in the guild but of the wrong faction. Please advise us of where we should go from here. Thank you.

Look, current names cant be changed. Its ok and hardly matters.

The DM's want to make sure we are serious about being a guild and worth the trouble of adding space for us on the server. I can live with that. The tags arent all that important and not all of us are married to the idea anyway.

And for those in the "organization" know this. A tag doesnt make you a "Made Man" or a "Man of Respect" performance does.

Make noise on the server. Take jobs, Do contracts. Earn loot and gear for the organization and earn the respect of our clients and you will be remembered. Those you do a good job for will remember you, and those you "whack" will remember you too.

And someday (DMs willing) when we get our colors they will speak as loudly as any tag.

And even if we dont get colors or a hideout, business will go on. This idea is bigger than colors and bigger than tags and bigger than hideouts.

So, lets not give the DMs a hard time. Deys da "Capo de Tutti"; da bosses of everybody right? An its our job to do what dey say. Its all just business am I right?
