Come now Slaves, you guys know the real deal, too. You can't whine and complain that CLAD is claiming false victory when you are all wont to do the same. I've seen people die in almost equal numbers on each side (except, of course, for the fabulous lowbie killing on the part of Okie and Slave alike), so it seems far more likely that things are moderately balanced. Don't be so bloody anal-retentive about the whole thing, especially considering the fact that ATI is essentially roleplaying here, not calling you out personally or dissing your mother. You are all rather evil, we are all good -- makes for a rather obvious point of contention between our factions and guilds, no?
Additionally, calm the hell down boys! CLAD has existed what, 2 weeks now? How long have the Okies been out and about? Methinks a wee bit longer, and the same with the slaves. Hardly fair to call a growing organization a joke so soon.
Keep it cool, keep it calm, and keep it fun, my children. And finally, to Painkiller etc, remember that actions speak more loudly than do words. If you want to show CLAD they are owned, do it, then walk away -- 'twill leave a far greater impression on the minds of all involved.

Arcane killed you and you're....upset? Hoorah for Arcane. If he only kills you once and you've killed him 100 times, I would still feast to that one victory, for it means that destroying your web of fear and control on NS4 is even slightly possible. THe more people that think like will flock to our cause. And your day is coming Dissection. It's coming fast. Welcome to life, there is always someone who wants it more than you do, someone willing to work harder, smarter, and longer to get what he wants...and sadly we have a whole group of people.

Well time has come for another Update: (LAST UPDATE SUN 03:31 8/15/04)
1. It is a new rule! that the only reply that may be given to an attack or slander directed at {CLAD} in the shout chan. is <needs to be decided upon> (for now reply to their thorns with sweet roses ^_^) Remember it is diplomacy first and to the end! We only raise our weapon if nothing else can be done or if Daeron is under attack.
2. Daeron: We need all {CLAD} members whose character reaches their 13th season to actively be defending Daeron. If your lvl 13 char gets slaughtered up to 5 times withdraw and lvl some more before returning to help defend oour city. We need more people helping out, but also we need to be smarter about it. It should go without saying that there are two exits to Daeron and a spawn point very close by. I have my Cleric bound at the spawn point outside of daeron so when I die I can attack from the flank or rear of the enemy.
3. About DotG: We are right now nutrual with them. We have had sticky relations the last two days but now we are trying to patch things up. It is my offical statement to the GM of DotG that I am sorry and hope things will be better than the last few days. They are our friends just as all in the NC are our friends. Pls give them your respect and all the benifits we would give a friend.
4. As of now: Any Char that a member of CLAD kills it concidered a CLAD kill! What this means is that no aggressive action can be taken without the explicit confirmation of a GM or Gizamaluke. This will be ironed out over the next 3 days as it will take a long time for the information to circulate. So if you are PKed by a CLAD and you feel you are not a CLAD target pls send a tell to either me, ATI, or Gizamaluke and we will get to the bottom of it. For those in CLAD... also remember that anyone you are partied with outside of CLAD is your responsibility...
5. This is very important: There will be a Wipe in the future. The general public is not privy to the details... but {CLAD} will be reorganizing itself this month and evaluating those members inside {CLAD} on their willingness to be in the guild and preform by guild standards. Some members may be asked to leave (there has been no list of members at this point drawn up but when there is you will be told in advance so that you can make amens). It has come to my attention that we need to have a better understanding of the seniority of {CLAD} and to better our inner guild relations. So basically the standards that we as a guild hold possible and new members will be asked and held to current members.

Still here Mr. Kurth...just at work right now. I've raised my improved cleric to 21 in a matter of 3-4 days. I've just gotten to lvl 21. Im hoping to lvl some more in NS to get my lvls to around 24 before having to trudge through miles of rats in order to compete with enemies.
Taking CoT lvls in order to get ranks into discipline (critical to fighting most our enemies).
Also...i've looked at the new rules Kurth has forwarded to me...awesome stuff. I think you guys will like it.
Also....John and I have lvled up significantly and gotten some tag and lag stuff.
Next business.....okies.....the most annoying being of course, ashley and mary-kate okie. I've devised some preliminary strategy to these guys but i won't share that openly. Please send private messages for the discussion of strategy. As another note...nomius phasha may PK our clan members, but he isn't an enemy to us. I know he can push our buttons, but he's more of an asset to us than he is an enemy. If you die from nomius please ask him to rez, or ask him to let someone through to rez. He normally steps aside. He has no beef with us...lets try and all be friends with him. It might be hard for some of you, but not everyone on this server is going to like us....the more we can win over without confrontation the better.

By Helm's bushy eyebrows! I must take some issue with the CLAD official stance re. Nomius...
His behaviour is far from neutral towards us. His claim is that he only pk's those who are 'red'; this does not appear to be the case as he was clearly neutral (blue) to me when he attacked me today. Perhaps this was his policy until he got powerful enough to behave like an okie without getting slapped down at every turn as he seems to be want to do to low level people training now.
Twice in as many days he's walked into an area that I've been in and opened fire with no warning. His opening voly in both cases was a bigby's (which I seem to recall Terminal whinging about himself.) Today was a bit better than yesterday in at least I was not fighting a crowd of challenging rated mobs at the time; it was a fluke yesterday that his spells got me before the mobs. I did ask for a raise as you suggested, he did not even acknowledge that I had spoken.
If we are to treat him with respect as you request, then the respect must be reciprocal. To attack without warning nor provocation, after we've been informed that he is not an enemy; and then not have the decency to acknowledge that the person he just killed has spoken, well that's just rude.
This is not a whinge about getting pk'd, I can certainly live with that
(I've taken my 12th level druid up against Magic Foo in an attempt to aid in the defense of Daeron.) However, if we are to have established roe with respect to specific people, we need to establish those from an informed pov.
The Okies are the okies, I think everybody in clad knows what they are all about. The slaves are the same; and the people attempting to rally the forces of evil from ma & sl against us would obviously be the same again. They have declared us enemies and will attempt to snuff our will to further the cause of light. By the will of Torm, and under the watchful eye of Helm, we all know that they will fail in this endeavor.

A few thoughts...
We are a guild of diplomacy. Even those that slaughter us we must find a way to 'turn the other cheek' so to speak. We are a clan of holy warriors under the guidance of the will of the gods of good and justice. As justice would like us to bring holy vengence to those that would harm us, but we must also remember our pledge to medicine. We are here to heal those who are in need of help. We are here to protect those that cannot protect themselves. We are not here to make enemies. But we are here to defend ourselves and our kin.
Termie is a very complex character. We have all heard Term shout out his opinions, but what almost none of you have heard except those of us that frequent the irc.gamesurge.net #neversummer channel. As Term is often corrected and where we all ingage in topics of NS4 morality. As I am sure most of you remember my poor judgement a while back when attacked by a wizzard in Daeron. When I shouted after lossing a lvl the only three people that came to my aid were John, Term, and Boris. The only reason Term got involved was to save me for this caster and bring judgement. When I told him my plight on IRC he took up my cause and defended me and my honor to the hilt.
Several days later the whole of NS4 attacked Term for 'whinning' about flesh to stone and other such shouts he had made. But not a single person took the time to ask nom what changed his ideas and opninions. Lord Modred, myself, Term, TGPO, DV, and several other idlers in the NS chan were talking about the offical rules of NS4, pesifically the bug abuse policy. The DMs made it perfectly clear to us that dc 100 web is legal, bigsby was legal, flesh to stone was an offence, logging was an offence, etc. The point is Term has changed his playing style and stratagies upon the changing courses of the rules of NS4. After this he stopped complaining about Web and used it quite often, he stopped using FtS, he has never logged once so that didn't change, and he started using bigsby. But it is you the players that has once again changed nom's playing style... This has happened with many of us vetrens of NS. The rules are the rules, but they do change. When we yell and shout, it is not meant for every tom dick and hairy, it is meant for the other vets and those players who are enlightened enough about what the devs and DMs have said and wish for. Term is one of the most enlightened players in NS4 when it comes to these topic... SO when many of you think him to be a hipocrate... it is simply that he read or heard for a DM that something changed and so it is ok or not ok to do! So the next time someone calls Term a hipocrate I strongly earg them to go to IRC or NSrealm.com or talk to a DM outside of game and ask, read, think about what changed.
Terminal Insanity is a good guy inside and ourside of the game... Contrary to what a few short tempered and narrowminded people think. He has helped me save my computer and my scholorships in colege. He has helped me fix my OS. He spent around 72 hours strait helping me figure out how to install unix on my Mac when he told me from the start that the pecific thing I was trying to do wouldn't work, but he searched the web and worked non stop any way until I gave up on my end. Even after that he still did some reasearch and work on how it could be done. In game I'm sure ATI, John, Kala, or anyone else who has been saved, partied, aided, or generally helped by nom can tell you he is a good guy in the realm of NS4 as well. Tymora knows I have about a thousand stroies of how Nom has saved me and helped me in NS4.
Now this long post is way off topic. But I will bring it in here. Nom is a good guy. Like ATI said, simply ask for help, DO NOT respawn, DO NOT be rude, DO NOT be aggressive or BUFF when you are raised, AND DO NOT BE A JERK WHEN YOU ARE KILLED WAITING TO BE RAISED. On hundreds of occations someone has shouted, (in a whinny voice) 'Nom killed me bla bl bla for the 100th time.' Well usually the reason you are raised in teh first place, since no one ever thinks to ask an Okie, slave, or nom etc to raise them after PK, is b/c someone who knows nom has asked him to raise them (i.e. ATI MOD me John Kala, etc).
OH AND NEW RULE: Buffing is considered a sign of aggression. It always has been. Example:
If you are just done fighting or in enemy territory but mean no harm and you raise someone and the first thing they do is start buffing, You are gonna take that as a hostile action! and beat them down. The number one rule when dealing with casters is that casters are the most paraniod Class, SO do not freak them out, get too close, or make any aggressive move! So the point is don't BUFF.

Yeah..thats about the way Terminal Insanity is. And you guys are right he does wish to kill some of our people, not because he hates us, but because its sport of the entire server. However, of the people after us, he's our least worry. Yes, he kills our people, as does Odlaw...but the accrimony we bare towards Terminal Insanity is more of a mutual respect towards each other. he'll kill our people, but if you befriend him he'll also rez you when he's done, or he'll be nice to you in other ways, by helping us kill our more important enemies (like the rising DD clan or okies and slaves). Don't worry though guys, terminal will warm up to ya. Try talking to him, he's a funny cat.
Really the only two people we absolutely don't like are marykate and ashley okie, which seem to just not care.
as for others, diplomacy is our best ally. I've been rezzed by people who are our enemies, and in the end we get a nice laugh. Our true goal is to stop PK's getting to our lower lvl chars, and to help others. Making enemies makes it harder to reach those goals. However, when people raid NC its no holds barred, enemies are engaged according to our rules of engagment.

Also, congrats to Amras for killing oddlaw II who is lvl 22, while he was only lvl 15 (yes he did it by himself). Awesome work (Odlaw was pretty upset about that lvl 15 factor) Im trying to hit lvl 22 (get knockdown) making me better i think. Im also considering going from lvl 22 to the rest of my lvls being monk - so 16 cleric 6 CoT and 18 monk (mayb ejust 9 monk and rest CoT) what ya'll think?

as for others, diplomacy is our best ally. I've been rezzed by people who are our enemies, and in the end we get a nice laugh. Our true goal is to stop PK's getting to our lower lvl chars, and to help others. Making enemies makes it harder to reach those goals. However, when people raid NC its no holds barred, enemies are engaged according to our rules of engagment.

Also, congrats to Amras for killing oddlaw II who is lvl 22, while he was only lvl 15 (yes he did it by himself). Awesome work (Odlaw was pretty upset about that lvl 15 factor

Hmm, not sure about the lvls thing, but I would like to post a thank you to Sid Whiteknuckles for helping me drop Sofa King Awesome in his tracks. Sofa spotted me, told me I had to die, and then we promptly dispatched the blaggart to his just rewards

On another, sadder note, I think we have His and Her Royal Madness, Her Royal Badness, Summoned [censored], and Nomius Phabulous (or Phasha) camped in our base, prob bound there. They waltzed in when the only CLAD on were AlienOverlord and I, and started dropping newbs and the like in our racks. They relented on the spawn kills after a while, but still hounded me out of the HQ area and killed me for sport a few more times. Nom claims this happened to him the other night (no spec date given), but I have no knowledge of that.

Alright....im calling a war. Listen...we aren't getting anywhere inside base...I don't care what lvl you are. We are putting up a stand....this crap isn't acceptable. We have to push these people out....If we can't...then when we're tired we log off, come back...experience...the go and fight.
My first call to war is on those immediately in our base.....from now on...hostiles in our base should be killed with extreme prejudice.....I'll warn aeveryone before hand. We can't expect to win the war if we aren't fighting. I'll consult with Giza and Kurth on this one in game. But guys...get geared to be more offensive players.
