Question for Devs on Harper Scout

Post by TC-GTRF »

Guys, with all the changes in crafting skills/feats that have been made, does the 5th level Harper Scout Potion crafting ability still work? If not, could we have something to substitute for it?

my advise is not to take more than 0 levels of harper scout, ever.

In a low-magic item server like NS_4, Harper Scout is a remarkable asset for a Sorcerer, Bard, Paladin or Cleric.

It'll tell you how to do it.

my advice is to make a secret harper area/building that only those with classes in HS can get to. special items, special quests, etc. :)

easy to do and easy to keep non HS out. makes HS worth playing for some, adds dynamic and variety to the characters, and also adds a story dimension.

Harper scout still sucks.

It's great for RP and if you want to weaken your build for the sake of RP go for it!

I'd have thought we'd have to give harpers seige weapons to make them playable, lol.

The main Harper bonus is connections and resources through other Harpers, something that takes time to do for NWN period, let alone in a PW. Harpers aren't forgotten (having a cross-faction network could be cool), but many things to tackle first.

Never had a weak build in my life, Jester. If we're both about 15th level, we can dual if you like. At that time, it'll be a Paladin 5/Fighter 5/HS 5. We can see if my build is significantly weaker. The potion creation would be just icing on the cake.

verry small Idea, on Harperscout, i must warn i'm sleepy so i cant see teh concequesnces

Make harpers friendly to all factions
I don’t really see much point in intelligence anyway, even at very high levels of intelligence, wizards still don’t realize it would have been smarter to be a sorcerer.

How about *most* factions? The Shadow faction is designed to be evil chars that would be the enemy of Harpers by my understanding...

(although it technically might be possible to make a drow harper in the shadow faction, that would be a very interesting RP, maybe spying on the enemy?)

So does your build still suck if it gets killed by a harper scout? Because my harper scout has been killing a lot of people lately...

Oh, but harpers suck, make them better. Raijin isn't satisfied with his kills yet.
