how about a "move me 5 feet forward" function in the diary
so that when i get stuck in a graphic i can do something about it
so that when i get stuck in a graphic i can do something about it
Not a bad idea, but it would add much potential to some exploits, teleporting through walls, past locked doors, over traps, taking relics outside of walk paths, if you're really stuck somewhere you can always try to DE, relog, transmutate, see if a DM is on, and alot of the time playing with the walk keys on the keyboard instead of clicking.

Your location is saved at area transition, but if you use a diary function it overwrites that location with your current.
In my experience, (please, correct me if I'm wrong) if I log without resting or using the diary, then I am kicked to the last transition when I log back in. Wouldn't this work if you were trapped in a graphic?

that sounds like a good idea, but what if enemies are nearby? lots of times you can get stuck on a ledge in some dungeon with enemies still all over the place. being able to use such a teleport while enemies are nearby, however, poses more exploit problems, especially if a relic would teleport with you....im just thinking about instantly porting away from danger and back to the start of the map.
its a good idea, but i wouldnt want any exploits to be created in its implementation...and currently...im not sure what kind of rules in its useage would prevent exploitation.

i obviously get stuck better than you heh
of all the times ive been stuck relogging has only fixed it once
but i still try
and rest first so im ready for the monsters
and if i cant get out after relogging 20 times there can be monsters to close to DE out but behind walls or something else that prevents me from killing them
i was stuck yesterday.
relogging didnt help, couldnt DE .
i was still stuck later after a reset.
keyboard moving didnt help.
fall forwards/backwards and other emotes didnt help.
you forgot "cast a summon at yer feet, sometimes it displaces you away from the obstacle" but i didnt have that option as a paladin anyway.
finally someone came out and killed me
a "port me to map entrance" function would work
it wouldnt port you out of danger, you cant access the book dialog in a fight
or, add another option to black welcome screen

3 party loot
4 warp to bind point
5 enter neversummer

That would be why re-logging doesn't help you. When you rest it saves your location...which is with one foot wedged in the rocks. If you're stuck, don't do ANYTHING to save your location (rest, use diary functions). If you relog without saving your "stuck" location, you will pop back to the last place your location was saved at (usually at transition).heresy wrote:i obviously get stuck better than you heh

Does the Death Express not work when hostiles are around to prevent people porting out of battle? Maybe we could rethink that, if so - really, if you need to run from a fight, your gonna head for a blue strip anyway. Having DE not be effected by nearby hostiles should solve the problem.

The option to goto bind point at the welcome screen is probably one of the better ideas I have heard.
Not exploitable I believe (though I may be wrong since I don't look for the exploits).
Allows those that get left in the planes due to party implosion a way out if they can't DE (by party implosion I mean real life callings...like the wife or kids). Just another two cents.

The DE restriction was deliberately made to stop players commiting suicide right before they got naturally killed through play.
Bind point on login sounds feasible. I would need to be sure that logging out in this manner could not be used as an exploit though.

in trouble in PvM and no one around that could raise you? log out and log back in, go to bind point.
someone needs help around your bind point and you are already buffed up? log out, long back in, go to bind point and be ready for battle.
hmm...having a hard time thinking of any other situations that could be exploited......work around those

so, option cannot be used when the cradle is being raided...script will not trigger if you leave while in combat?...all buffs are stripped and spells disabled thrown to 0 left per day after use...any other restrictions?
i would think the battle-logging problem would be hardest to prevent, and also the most useful/common of those exploits?
