i was talking with someone in game about summoners and had this idea of a all faction job of summoner.
the job works like this, you have to have SF conjure or GSF conjure wichever you decide dev team. once on this job the "in combat" summon penaltys reduce depeding on how advanced you are in the job and what level of focus you have in conjure. i say make it a all faction job as all faction has summoners or atleast access to classes that can become summoners.
basicly once on the job each step reduces the "in combat loss" of the bonuses that you get when summoning.
say -10% for lvl1 of the job
-20% for level 2
-35% for level 3
-50% for master
SF in conjure also boosts these reductions
10% for SF 20% for GSF and 35% for ESF
something like that where you still get a bit of a hit for in combat summons maybe only 10% reduction instead of the 15% i have above
this would introduce a new build for the server and we would see a good nuumber of these summoner casters who would have both DK and Mummy dust aswell as a coupple gate and a coupple greater planar bindings ect
this would make for a interesting opponet IMO aswell as a fun build perhaps some creatures also have a innate -5% to the penaltys IE planar races ect similar to the bonuses they already get to some summons.
the DA should however be left out of this summoner job as it is powerful enough as is and most PMs will have it summoned and buffed pre combat anyway.

I actually quite like this idea, anyone ever played the game "Summoner"? :p
Anyways i do like this idea however i reckon negating the cast in combat penalties would work here. However it should act something like with the pure class system. There would have to be a penalty.
Still i reckon this coudl actually be used as the pure class bonus for Clerics/Druids/Mages. If they go pure they start off by losing combat cast penalties and at later level their summons are buffed more than the typical one (as long as they have ESF conjure)

It's a nice idea, but I could care less about the combat penalties for summoning.
As a pure Wiz I would be completely satisfied if the only pure bonus we or Sorcs got was the ability to summon our familiar at level 40.
They don't even have to mess with the familiars stats, leave em as is.
Scouting an area with my possessed familiar would be sooooooooo sweeeeeeeeeeet.
