I have some transition thoughts for fixes, such as simple zone transfers.
Leaving the Mole Men zone into the tunnels, can leave you in a state where you can not pick the lock on the door or zone back. There used to be a transition in there that would at least let you go back into the zone if the door was not unlocked. This should be fixed, you can hang a non picking character in that little room in the tunnels and they can not get out.
When leaving Alazaars, Dwarf Heart, to the stairs to dwarfs/goblins. Your Pet will not transition with you on steps 2 and 3. Leaving your pet stuck behind you. This should be fixed, as it leaves your pet behind you so you can not easily do the second floor at all and is a bit of a pain if you want to do the 3rd.
There is a zone coming up from the Dwarven heart, its the one just passed the caves, I believe its the Jail area. Where the cells/rooms are empty and dwarfs are in the bigger rooms with the in and out exit. Just before you hit the plaza, could we change the music in this zone, for some reason this room only in the game, causes the client music to get in a state where it ignores the volume settings of the client and plays super loud audio trash, and it will do that in any zone from that point on that plays this music. This zone triggers it but it requires a client reset to clean up the problem. At which point no other zones have ever triggered it.
The first zone in Amazons, as you leave the lower level mini boss of the level 18ish zons. This zone will 90% crash my client if I try to swivel my view, it appears to be re lated to the battle field clutter in the middle of the zone, where the items are half burried or something, anyway this is another zone that is almost unplayable for me.
Now I have travelled just about every zone in the game, and these zones keep popping up as issues, its not random, its a guaranteed issue for me. I'm not sure if others have the same issue, or have even identified them, but these I did find. The seem pretty minor fixes to resolve them.
Thanks
Umpa

Thats the entire point. Right now, the Planes are most unfriendly to Rogues. Nearly everything everywhere is immune to sneak attacks, so the last saving grace of a rogue is being able to get you places you normally wouldn't. Hence, the molemen.Umpa wrote:Leaving the Mole Men zone into the tunnels, can leave you in a state where you can not pick the lock on the door or zone back. Yeah, thats a pain. But you didn't say how it should be fixed, and personally I'd just summon it at the last stair because its common practice to skip the gobos on the first two.Umpa wrote:When leaving Alazaars, Dwarf Heart, to the stairs to dwarfs/goblins. Theres a lot of problems with Zons from super spawns to lag for two-handed weapon users. I'm not sure what the solution would be for that stuff.Umpa wrote:The first zone in Amazons, as you leave the lower level mini boss of the level 18ish zons. Unfortunatly this issue isn't about getting into someplace it's actually a transition but that puts you on the wrong side of the door with no other way out. He is correct in the fact that originally the transition worked fine. However, now when you exit the molemen with a character that does not have a way of unlocking the door then you end up stuck in a very short hallway. I believe the door transition itself may be pointed the wrong way and simply flipping the transition arrow 180 may fix this problem.P. Fricebottle wrote:Thats the entire point. ive noticed that lots of people do crash in amazons and avoid that zone for this reason. i dont crash more often than anywhere else however.
it could be that ive tweaked my graphics settings in a way that avoid this half buried item problem.. try shutting off environment shadows, environment mapping on characters, sky boxes and shiny water. then see if that zone crashes you still.

So you want me to contribute the code needed to make a transition take a pet? They already have this, its not a zone its a port to another part of the zone, they just need to use this instead of the default transition. The Port near Unknown Evil works fine, they just need to attach that script to the transition point.
the portal - vs - pet thing happens in a lot of places (i.e. ragnar). it happens at the entrance to unknown evil as well, not sure what script or transition you are referring to. i think it occurs at all intra-map transitions, i dont know of any exceptions.
i always thought it was an intentional defensive thing meant to be a barrier against summons.
