I dont know if anyone has proposed these ideas before but I thought that they would prove useful.
1. A one way portal in the Planar store that leads to Avendale ......so DMs dont have to fish people that get stuck there out (looks around.....am I the only one that gets trapped there?).
2. Public Transfer boxs in all faction home cities .....for all the other people that are not in a guild.
3. Shortened duration for the ranged touch knockdown attacks ....something soo cheesy shouldnt last for what seems like an eternity, especialy since there is no saving throw against it.
4. Alternately let the mobs that are doing the ranged touch KD drop the item that does the ranged touch KD ........so that everyone can have some cheese too.
5. Have a thunderdome faction bonus for the faction that wins the most matches. (possibly with a point system so people dont bring lowbies in to bolster their own factions with easy kills, say 1 point for every level of defeated opponent.)
Some things.....

the thunder dome is awesome. I like that idea.
the perma box in cities might cause problems. IE a rouge sits there hidden... someone drops items and gear then logs... rouge pwns there gear.
the planar store idea is cool so it doesn't cause extra dm attention but it might not fix the problem of the exit token.
ranged KD can be achiveved by grease, gust, Flash Bang
, ect.....
ideas are awesome thouh

MasterYoda says:
There are always risks involved with transfering gear ....unannounced resets, server crashes, theft. They are no different from when someone else has to watch your gear. There is nothing to prevent unscrupulous HIPSers from nabbing your stuff while it lay on the ground during a transfer when someone is watching your gear. The only difference is you will have the option of transfering your gear unattended if that is the way you prefer to do it ....or if noone is available to help you. An added benifit is there will be fewer shouts for help with transfers.the perma box in cities might cause problems. IE a rouge sits there hidden... someone drops items and gear then logs... rouge pwns there gear.

We're pretty much all in the opinion that meta-gaming should be discouraged. If there was a way to prevent people from trading gear between their own toons, we'd probably do it. But, there's enough loopholes in methods to address it that there's probably no way to do it in a foolproof fashion. So, while we can't prevent it, we probably won't make it any easier....

Am I to understand that meta-gaming is ok for guilds but not everyone else?
Technically its only meta-gaming if the player isnt creative enough to fabricate a plausible reason to make the transfer.....ie inheretance, birthday gift, promise to an old war buddie to look after his only child. basically any excuse will do......I accidently kill that persons favorite dog with freindly fire and am making compensation for his canines demise.

If you're able to come up with a valid RP reason to transfer items between your chars toons, I smile upon thee. However, is the need to transfer the item driving the action or the need to RP? If it's the former, then you're just covering the real reason for the transfer.
But, at the end of the day, not worth debating too much about. Play on!
