Skills...
I propose that skills be made level dependent just as perform is. That would eliminate the dumping of skill points and lessen the cheesing of builds. I would suggest that after the initial allocation of skill points that skill points be used one per level. It is my opinion that it would make for a more interesting and diverse server. But that is just my opinion. I understand that there is alot going on and I do not pretend to know the difficulty of such a task since I do not have the knowledge or skills to accomplish such a thing.
sorry, but i have to disagree with this extremist proposal
...it would put a big limit on almost every type of build that can be commonly seen across ns4 ------ how often do you see a non-multiclass build....the only way such a change would be of practical use in ns4 is only when all pure class bonuses were prefected....
just like ns3.5 has crazy gear...if you like crazy uber gear and bumped up stats, and of course very powerful spells then go play there..
if you want a more balanced layout, then ns4 is for you,
and lasty, since nwn2 will be "fixed" when it comes to level based stat pts as well as other improvements and modifications -- if you like the setup then head in that direction.....there is a goldmine of options out there for players...

skill dumping was partially fixed when the 5 level minimum for classes taken post epic. now if you want to skill cheese at epic levels you need to multiclass at least a reasonable amount for it.
being anti skill dumping is hardly extremist. it's not allowed in PnP and it's fairly widely recognised as a very stupid decision bioware made. seriously, what faintly realistic reason can you think of for having absolutely no discipline or hide before, then doing 1 level of 'fightering' or 'rogueing' and suddenly becoming a nigh immovable object, or an epic expert in sneaking?
OTOH I think it'd wreck pretty much every build in progress to do it, so would only be feasible on a wi-pe anyway, and would have implementation problems. what if i'm cross classing in discipline but want to boost it by 1 point on a fighter level? it'll be half the price it should be, so either the script won't let me do it, or it has to calculate how many skill points i 'saved' and deduct them.

Not anymore. Remember the old Sorc38/Monk1/Pali1 builds or any of the builds that took great advantage of skill dumping. The current fix of having to take 5 levels in any class taken in epic levels seems to work to limit these types of builds. I also agree that skill dumping is not how it should work and that having to use all your skill points (or at least most of them [cross class 1/2 point allotment excluded]) each level would be the preferred method for me as well. However, this isn't a perfect system and it is definatly not PnP D&D so skill dumping is part of the game. So with that being said we deal with it and make builds according to how things really are.

Lets hear it. The only reason it is allowed in NWN is cause bioware are a bunch of baphoons who listen to wizards of the coast........
But you have to keep in mind, even a purist like me knows, NWN isnt DnD.
Never was and never will be. If i want to play a bit of PnP and be true to the game of DnD i have to bust out the dice and start a rollin!

I am not looking for anymore "nerfing". I was just thinking of all the "cheese" talk I have been hearing about in the past 10 months or so I have been playing. I thought applying the same rules the bard has to other skills would be fair all the way around. I have no "complaints" about NS4, even when I get bigbied by a cleric(we know who we are, lol). This is about fun and the blowing off of steam, so don't be getting all worked up about my "extreme" ideas. Thats all they are...ideas. Alright Chase go ahead and lock this puppy.
