[CoT Feat] Divine Wrath
[CoT Feat] Divine Wrath
This is a once per day, spell like ability that adds to AB, Damage, Saving Throws and also adds Damage Reduction +1/5 / +2/10 for a short duration.
I have this and hardly use it, mainly because its a spell not an innate ability and don't have the spare skill points to pump concentration up so its often disrupted. The other main problem with it is it's 1 use per day and the duration is very short, it'll last maybe 1 or 2 monsters before dropping.
It would be great if either it was turned into an ability like might so it wasn't interrupted or better still the duration was pumped up so it could be used in the normal pre combat buffing cycle.

I think it should be 2 * Cha mod rounds to determine length.
I like the skill, and use it often. You just have to let it fire last in your series of buffs before you take on a boss. using it for normal mobs is pointless, and even more pointless is the attempt to cast it in melee range.

yeah that sounds an alright duration, its a nice spell but too short and prone to disruption when casted so it's hardly used. the duration would be fine if it could be rewired to be an innate ability like divine strength / shield but thats probably not possible.IcemanXV wrote:I think it should be 2 * Cha mod rounds to determine length.

Just dont have the skill points to spare on Concentration, and with the really short duration and the high likelyhood of disruption its not used.
Thats great to heer, and you guys are doing a fantastic job. I know am being selfish with this, just all the Paladin/COT abilities are 1 round. Run through the buff cycle and the first ones are dropping..Sparky wrote:We've got a lot of stuff in the works and appreciate the feedback. Worry not, for CoT is on our list to get a revamp, I just can't really give you a good date for it.
about the only useful class skills a Pally/CoT has are conc, disc, taunt and spot. if you're a human with 10 Int you can pick 3.
Incidentally I've seen a few Paladins with low concentration get their behinds handed to them by taunting skeletons and amazons - it's far from useless.
Also check the change log for the alterations made to Prayer, you might find it worth a second look (and level 3 slots come with high level Pally amulets).

I have disc, spot, tumble, taunt and some lore. No space left over for conc sadly.Binkyuk wrote:about the only useful class skills a Pally/CoT has are conc, disc, taunt and spot. if you're a human with 10 Int you can pick 3.

The paladin is really heavily dependent on a lot of stats, after pumping str/cha/wis up there isn't a lot of space left for int and we only get 2 * level modifier points. We dont have the skill points free to take conc, if i had them then for sure would take it but disc and tumble are more important. Heck even taunt is more use.

indeed, Lay On Hands is a very undervalued skill. A pure pally/cot with modified cha of 30 (not hard) will heal pretty much their whole health bar, and it's an uninterruptable, near instant cast that IIRC doesn't provoke an AOO. It's great.
A few more uses per day would be nice of course if you're still debating pure class bonuses for pallies.
