High end shifter bonuses

Post by watchwood »

I think we all know that most PrCs get high end bonuses of various sorts if you can reach high levels in the PrC. AA's can hit anything, PM's get those summonses, RDD's get huge stat bonuses, etc.

Anyways, I was wondering if Shifters get these bonuses, and what kinds of bonuses do they get if so. If not, I would like to suggest that shifters get bonuses to their shifting forms at high levels. (stat bonuses, extra abilities, etc) I would hope so, given the trend towards doing likewise with other classes.

the higher lvls in shifter you are you get unlimited base shifting shapes. anything you take a feat for isn't affected by this though. i do think that shifters on the high end should get some kind of bonus as i have yet to see one that is actually any good.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

Most of the epic shapes got upgrades a while back. Vampire, spectre, and Slaad, and Golem damages still stink, along with the pre-epic shapes.

Risen lord and Azer are pretty good. One's my Tankform, the other's my "kill the caster quick!" form.

Not being able to heal has a little bit to do with that I think.

I'll have to recheck but I'm pretty sure that doesn't help my Risen Lord shape :-P

Remembered to check finally... Undead shapes are completely unaffected by healing potions. The only way for them to regain health is regen (normal/magical/vampiric), Harm spells, or allies using healing kits on them.

Dedicated shifters attaining dragon form will now have the ability to use the (in)famous dragon fear aura. It is reachable in the spells once you are shifted.

Does this only apply to shifters, or to druids without Epic Shifter levels as well?

The way we've been talking about it, I am pretty sure it's just Shifters... and if it isn't, it should be :) I'll break out my tester and double-check if no one beats me to it...

In one more level I will know for sure if it's just shifters of a plane ole 36th level druid can have a Dragon Form with a Fear Aura. I will let you know as soon as I can log on and get that level.

Druids can right now but expect that to change. This is some new stuff instead of tweaking the old so expect some changes over the next couple days on this and polymorph spells.
