Today trap fixes

Post by Netrom.dk »

As you may or may not know, I put in a custom version of the traps yesterday. Most traps will still work as in standart NWN, but will have different DCs and Damages

------

Todays fixes for trap:

Fire traps now does damage as they should, as opposed to no damage yesterday.

Crafting DCs are now shows in the crafting menu, so you know what your aiming for when crafting

I still need some comments on how it is to play using traps, not as a primary weapon (you cant craft enough for that anyway) but as a support to your other skills.

i'm i right in assuming that your trap fixes effect the randomly spawned chests in the world?
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

I actually have dont know, all I've worked with is the scripts that fires when traps that you set are triggered, but if the chests uses the same then yes.

i noticed after you put in the new traps/scripting that chests had higher dc's for the traps on boxes. my PM got 3 lvls permanently drained off his char lvls when he sprung a negative trap in the formians. the dc was alot higher than he could have gotten had he actually been say lvl 10 or so, which is what lvl that area generally is.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

I think the dc on the chest opened, which was on the section of giant mountain with berserkers, smashers, and walkers, had a dc of around 35-37.

Ok that means it works, 3 levels drained is from a Strong Negative trap, intended for level 20+. I guess we need to reconsider the trapped chests then.

yeah, i'd say bump it down a notch or 2 for the areas and take a look at it then. 20+ areas are fine for 100+ damage and lvl draining but i don't think many lvl 10's could take it.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

Yeah, you can get XP for creatures killed with traps. That's been changed for a while now....

i dunno, i wasn't alone when it happened, but that would suck -- hoping for loot and instead getting totally Pwnd.

hmm.. maybe having killer traps on chests is a GOOD thing! Makes ns4 have yet one more skill that's actually useful to invest in...
