I agree with this statement totally. I have a lvl25 toon that is cha-based and uses both divine might and divine shield. They are useful, but often I spend so much time recasting them that I'm better off not using them. Each casting is free 2rounds of attacks on you and 2rounds of dmg you aren't doing. When you have to heal they often wear off again and then the process repeats.

As I gain a few more lvls and get a +6 or +7cha cloak I'll be getting 12-13 rounds of use per casting which will be nice but it would be cool if they had 1 or 2 additional rounds scripted into their durations. Kinda like the cleric domain abilities that use your cha for duration get a free 5 rounds. Anyways, it's a thought... don't even know if (edit) *scripting* these feats is possible.

We could add in a boost to them for clerics with domains of Protection (Shield) and Strength (Might). Otherwise, though, clerics are good enough already...

I don't think boosted feats or abilities to make clerics better is a good idea. With all the other abilities that need work done on them to make them effective in epic levels Divine Shield and Divine Might should not be on the top of the list.

It'd be really nice if it were scripted to be cast for a duration determined at time of casting by the number of turn attempts you spend on it from a radial wheel.

for example "cast" divine Shield, three = Duration X 3 but lose the 3 turn attempts now

The logical limit to this would be duration X 8, as there are 8 positions on the wheel.

I was surprised to find that divine might and divine shield weren't restricted to Pallys and BGs in D&D rules in general. I can see why clerics have it but if they didn't it would certainly be someting special for being a Pally or BG.

I like the cha bonus + (pally lvl + BG lvl)/2 or 3 or even 4 idea. It helps those that it should and doesn't nerf it for those that may already use it with clerics.

And similar to the laying hands, etc., have the paldin and CoT levels add together for duration determination.
