Into the Legion
the door to the hidden tunnels of SL are used way too much by outsiders. it is posted when you leave menzo that the shadows will take care of any trespassers there...yet there are no gaurds. the door going in is locked, but can be unlocked by a meager rogue.
anyway we can up the DC on the door to something only a true rogue can attain?
or how about we perma lock it and make it a SL quest that you recieve a key to unlock it...since it is a vital door to the SL.

I think it's fine just the way it is. Either that or stop taking everyone relics all the time. If ya's can't take the heat...

Seriously though AO already has some pretty cool stuff... you don't see other factions demanding Dragon defenders because you have them do you?
My thoaught is it should be available low level Shadow Legion to use, but require some dedication from another faction to break in.
Keys would fit the story and won't break the world.
What is the point in a secret entrance that is only available to the charactors who are such high level they would not need it? Perhaps if this can't be done we could request that it is caved in to prevent attacks from that direction.

Oh come on now u guys have to be joking right - the only reson u want that door made harder is too keep the relics better and longer - the doors been like that forever lol and it was fine till the relic thing came in.
I mean lets get serious, before anything at all is done to any other faction NS city needs fixing its smack bang in the middle everyone raids it and keeping relics there is like holding a fist full of water
the guards are the weakest on the server u can enter the city from three places (sthwall-sewer, docks, front gate) and yes kromix before u say they need better defenders and the brethren are no good
we must admit NS has the raw end of the stick - especially when u add its location into the mix.
I mean can we plz be fair dinkum (aussie term lol) SL is fine as it is u have good defenders do a better job of it, dont come on here pinning for changes that suit or help no-one else but yourselves other things need tweaking fixing way more like wiz summons animal companions, i mean Paladins should get a holy avenger drop or something even compareable to the staff of the dead nearly all wizards use etc the list goes on.

Jeez cobber, thats a bit of an assumption, and wrong. It should be coded to match its description or its description should be chaged to something like "express route for raiding parties"
I don't think it would be too hard for a few Clerics to join together and earthquake it into oblivion it would be easier than upgrading that lock.
And lets face it most of Shadow Legion is Clerics

I think I'll weigh in on this one =P.
Should the DC for the door be raised? no. Its a moderate lock because SL only has 2 ways in, and the other one is only used by ppl whove been around for a while and know NS4 like the back of their hand. If you are defending Menzo, you know that 90% of the time, they are coming that way, so set your defences accordingly.
On the other hand, it is weird that there is a sign saying its guarded, and yet the only ppl down there are molemen. There should be an assassin or 2 waiting to speedbump any raiders. Nothing so hard as city itsself, but something. Maybe put a cleric and an assissin in between the hidden doors. But nothing so drastic as upping the DC so only rogues can do it.

every city has its weakness....eploiting the enemies weakness is a fact of NS4, but when the weakness itself is someting "faction created" i do think that the faction itself need to fix this weakness in a way that makes it not as effective. upping the dc on the door means those ppl that take 1 rogue lvl can't get in as well, an auto lock script with key means that it is truly a shadow legion secret way as it was intended. its a small matter...there are still 4 other ways into the city without going through the front door, but non are put forth as the "menzo only" route....that is all this is about.
this door is a shadow legion door, that should mean something....and trust me when i say that if it was in any other city like this i would stand behind the same reasoning.

And I still say it's fine the way it is. Bump the DC? Hey, mages can still bypass it with knock just as easy. Make it un-knockable? That's just cheap.
If the drow are finding their "Raid NS City Easy" door is now being used against them, that's too bad. We don't need a door that SL relic raiders can run behind real fast while pursuers have to take the long way around through Redhorn.
