Items with level maximums

I know there are items with a minimum level requirement, but can items be made with a maximum level limit? It would allow more unique and maybe powerful items to exist, but would only be to help the newer characters.
ie.
Boots of haste for levels 5 and below.
Keen weapons for less than 5 levels, to help with the lucky crits now and then.
Items with a once a day use with buffs like str, wis, chr, dex, divine favor, magic weapon, etc. All of the trinket buffs with daily use, but only with a level upper limit.

Just a thouhgt.

haste boots for lvl 5 and under... WHY? because u are lasy, get a party going...

Keen for ditto? same as above... and makes a mage/bard useless...

buffs? find potion and items in loots...

why do you ask theese questions? maybe because you are used to being pampered in other servers? get a party going... its much better than soloing... if you want haste. make friends with a mage/bard/travel cleric, you want keen? ditto, you want buffs? ditto... bards are great support chars... my bard can buff a decent size party and keep them alive to an extent. and with 53 ac at lvl 21 it's not that bad of a meat shield for a mage...

Can it be done? Should is another story. Will is another book in a another library.

Soloing is a fact of life. The early levels may be spent with others, but most likely they are spent alone.

Why haste boots? Perhaps to run away quickly from those indiscriminate PKers.....

Or get both of your magic missles off on the 6 goblin horde (with summoned ferocious chicken) before running away.

If they can cast fireball once a day, maybe that will help (maybe not). And they can see the effects for when they cast it themsleves.

If you thought this one is bad, I got millions of them....

Not to get into a long conversation that was done by the DMs, Devs, and our supreme leader.

All of those items were intentionally left out and the decision to do so was done in the initial design phase. Yes each of those and more were discussed and systematicly shot down as not fitting for the story line.

Haste is just a state of mind. If you live with out it for long enough you dont know what it is like. We could speed the whole game world up by 10 but that takes alot of the enjoyment out of it. Yes it can be slow but its a game that is meant to be played. not to be beaten. Enjoy playing and quit worrying about that next level:)

Seriously though we nerfed haste and put in speed enhancement items and the haste and exp retreat spells as means to move around quickly but not to cast or attack any faster.

As a low lvl wiz or sorc take exp retreat or get some scrolls made by some other players or find some potions out there. If you are in Last Alliance like it sounds, then do the messenger quest and you will have all the speed you need:)

Haste was merely an example, but can see that it is a *favorite*, so to speak.

I do use both exp ret and the messenger gizmo, and the haste spell itself if need be.

I was mostly wanting to present ideas, and not sure if they were new or old hat. I know it may seem repetitive saying why, but it helps in establishing the idea submission attitude. Saying that you've already thought about them and decided "no" is good to hear; it's better than being ignored
