Idea's from a new player

Post by Go'f »

Firstly, I haven't been here that long.... so some of this stuff may be in place... if so I'd love to know, if not then your welcome to the concepts

IDEA: Last Alliance QUEST: - Have a return home quest, maybe even make it so you lose your LA membership if you decline the quest/reward then you'd have to go crawling to one of the other groups for membership.

Make it so if you do return home you can never play that charactor again but get Legendary Status and perhaps a small bonus to be passed to the next charactor generated on the owners Account

IDEA: Last Alliance - Make the thugs from Malitia level 2 quest, in the city spawn more, or reduce the guard to thug/cut-throat ratio, in three nights of playing in what i guess is off peak hours I have only seen 3 thugs, one nearly killed me (great fun/fight) and the other two were dispatched by guards so fast I didn't even have time to turn to face.

IDEA: Give those pesky high level guys something to do so they leave the weakest monsters for the lower levels.

IDEA: Have the level requirements of an object appear in its description text box.

They come out more at night. Do your hunting then. Also, they have some stealth abilities, so plan your skills accordinly (which overall is good advice for the whole server).

Cheers, maybe I just need to wait longer, but compared to the rats and gobbo's its very slow, and the briefing doesn't prep you for that very much... I have been back in there at various times (mostly night cause it kind feels right more than i considered it'd be scripted that way) they don't jump me like they did the first time, but then maybe it's another case of first time lucky.

You can just find the level requirement of an item by equipping it, and when it unequips it tells you what level you need to wear it in the little area at the bottom-right corner of the screen where it displays battle attacks, saving throws, etc.

Unerstood, and applied but I believe it is hard on new players who haven't learnt this yet. By time youve been playing a while youve got an idea of naming conventions and you know to equip before you buy... its an idea based on my gaming experience as a new player, doesn't mean there is not a way around it, just its too costly a leason.

You can equip items when you're in the store before buying them, something you need to make sure you do before you buy them to see if you could use it yet. You don't have to buy something to test if you can use it yet.

Understood, applied, I have learnt the lesson, but like I say for a brand new player it's not obvious, especial as level restrictions are not a part of NWN std campaign gear.

Thanks heaps, I set search mode on and walked a bit slower it helped allot.

Also I was playing on dial-up while downloading a patch for another game, lag from a spot/listen/search tests would jump me back everytime I missed spoting someone giving me a clue that I had missed a punk thug in the area. Not sure if anything can be done to stop that, the downside was the lag made every fight much more of a challange so I can't see many people exploiting it anyways.
