Summon AI

It seems there are 2 different AI for allies summoned and controled when u control a creature it stands literally on top of u while not moving but that is only negative. the control one seems so much better navigating corners not attacking the furthest thing away. how easy or impossible it is to replace one for the other i have no idea but thought to make the suggestion anyways

You might be right. I've rarely relied on summons except as meat shields since most of the time they kind of just stand around not doing anything. However, I've found that Animal Empathy helps to fill in for the loss of companions for rangers and druids very well (especially ones that are in The Circle). You get a good animal (like one with at least 100 hps), and it works bette than most summons I've seen.
