New shop or no new shop?

Greetz, since alot of ''new'' players don't have much access to special (better or more balanced to there character) gear , i was thinking of creating a little shop of our own.

Not only can new players get profit out of it, but so can players that don't want to use mules to.

What my thought of it will be is like:

1) I've created a ''shopkeepeer'' character (some off you guys helped me out good to level her quick, my special thanks to them

), that character is able to Lore (id) everything there is in the realm (lore aprox60). And for a few coins (like 5k gp/gear need to id'd) she will be happy to lore it for you. This price is alot cheaper for most gear than the casual shops ask.

2) Selling all kind off ''Named-''; lvl16+- or ''not available in shops'' gear for a democratic price (thou ask for some gear more than 100K,so no abuse buy sell to shop can happen)

3) Keeping up with good gear is kinda hard (near impossible) for me to maintain it alone. So will surely be happy to buy some gear off from you guys (paying a little more than shops give

)

4) Even if possible and all go well , with some help from you guys , i can even sell scrolls (arcane or raise's).

And last but not least, if great profit is made , we can support some newbies with some starting money from it.

I'll be happy if u all post a reply on this , just for checking your opinion from it.

I'vs always thought it would be cool to start a player run "Avendell Trade Union"
I have 2 Crafting characters with that in their description already, one for arcane crafting and one for martial crafting.

A shop like this is a great idea, since there aren't particular places you can go to get particular items except for equipment drops. The #1 item on my wish list would be rez scrolls, without a doubt. Other scrolls would be nice, too.

It would be nice if one of the locked (uncoded, I guess) buildings in Avendell could be opened up to house your shopkeeper. Also, since your character obviously can't be on all the time, and they can't do multiple things at once, someone else could make another one.

Another bit of cool content to add (yeah, I know, DD and Lokey are swamped as is) would be a mad wizard's laboratory. It could be packed with potions and bookshelves with spell scrolls, but you'd have to defeat the wizard and his/her minions for his/her hoard of knowledge. One wizard fighting another wizard to steal their power

I know that most wizards will have exchanged tons of spells with friends by the time they could tackle this kind of shop (if it's decently high level) but it's still a cool idea, IMO. In My Dreams, as well

Not much point in res scrolls unless you have enough concentration and use magic device skill or cleric levels.

he prolly mend raise scrolls; about that building that would be great but i think this require a new server update. Any way, only see positive reactions yet

. But still can use some help on the available gear and scrolls.

Oh, no! Well, maybe someone will pick up where you left off (though not me, I don't have the time). Any ideas as to what happened?

And yes, I meant raise scrolls. They're just so damned hard to find. It sure is nice when clerics make you some, though.

otherwise it occupy the magic shop there, but got only 1 problem there: Those commonors that are walking there can be a pain in the [censored] if you want to scribe offensive area spellscrolls.

The commoners aren't a problem anymore.
In fact when I was scribing for my wizard with my druid they came in handy for scribing the Finger of Death spell since the spell couldn't be cast on anything besides one of the commoners that was there.
The spells are nullified now now when you cast them in the magic shop when scribing.

Greater Dispelling doesn't seem to work when trying to scribe it though.

i regret it that some spells cant be scribed(like ultravision) or brewed (like owls wisdom). In fact that last spell goes as perfect into a potion as a cats or bulls strength. Is there any reason why they can't be made?

Well in the case of Owl's Wisdom, my guess is that the devs never made a potion for it. I've never seen an Owl's Wisdom potion, nor a Fox's Wisdom potion for that matter either. And speaking of which, the Bull's Strength and Cat's Grace potions look exactly the same. I think one of them should be given a different appearance so it's easier to tell the too of them apart.
