It is my understanding that junk laying around on the ground can creat lag.
Why not give some item the same property as the mage electrifier "destroy item" function... I for one would pick up stuff and destroy it rather than having it lay there taking up memory.
Just an idea
I have an idea for helping lag.

It's my understanding that most areas have a cleanup script on them so that when all PCs exit an area, junk on the ground is cleaned up. However, the problem that prevents Giant Mountain from respawning also prevents those scripts for triggering. Thus, the Trail of Junk.
I have seen however that if you drop an item, sometimes it will still be there if you go back later, but any loot from mobs around it will be removed. Maybe that's a 'feature' if you get disarmed?

this thread is moot. The problem with the cleanup script not firing because an area was "broken" has been taken care of.
As a side note, there are magic trashcans in various areas (NS City merc district for example) that you can put excess junk into if you dont want it anymore.
