Apologies if this has already been suggested somewhere else, but I noticed
that there are a lot of bookshelves in the realm, and no books. One of the
coolest aspects of games like Morrowind, IMO, was the sheer volume of
literature and background in the form of books. I think it would be a
really cool addition to the game to introduce such writings in one of
several ways:
1) Players interested in writing short-story content email submissions to
Devs/DMs for review and consideration. If approved, Devs create custom
book items for each unique story. These can be found in random locations or purchased from bookshelves.
2) Devs design a system by which players actually write books/stories IN
GAME. I'm going out on a limb here, cause I don't know enough about the
game code and other constraints, but I'm envisioning something similar to
the scroll scribing table. Players interact with the table, then 'dictate' their book via the chat console. If its possible to append that chat into a log, that log is then attached to a generic book item that can be removed from the table.
Just out of curiosity, do any Devs or DM's know approximately what the character limit for a book in NWN is?
Player-Written Literature
Actually I think its a wonderful idea and I think I can even see a way to implement it. This is however a piece of content that would have to fall into the "after full release" category. With the amount of content, redesign, and bug fixing currently under way and back logged it would be just another straw on an already large haystack.
Good idea though, keep em coming.

I write, but not often.
Searching for eternity, dreaming, for the key to open twilight.
