So you wanna be a rock super star?
Let's say that you are just starting out in the world of Neversummer. What helpful tips could you give a newbie to help them survive in the world? What helpful sage like advice could be given that would keep a player alive and interested?
I just started playing NWN via servers just a few days ago. I am looking for helpful tips that can enhance my own and other new players gaming experience.

If you're a melee character, learn to use more than one type of weapon effectively. There are lots of creatures with a melee resistance of some type, so it helps to be able to switch between multiple damage types.
That's the big one I can thoink of off the top of my head, tough I would also say make sure you're careful in Avendell!

I found it helpful to stock up on heal kits. They take less time than just sitting around waiting to heal.
Also in the beginning I found it useful to hit and run. You'll discover very quickly what monsters and in what numbers you can handle them in.

Melee, get cleave early (yes ptless later but makes it easier to level)
Make sure you eventaully get 13 intellegence for improved knockdown.
DONT FORGET ABOUT DISCIPLINE.
Youll get pked alot and most of the time it will be sneak with Improved knockdown and Disc. is the only way to try and save against it! Saves your life a million times.
Start with an even number in Constitution... the ability score is all you need at the beginning cuz it determines how much HP you get every level...
ASK PEOPLE YOU MEET FOR HELP! NC has us - CLAD - to talk to and help out. Chances are SOMEONE will give ya some spare gold to aid ya in your adventures.
The heal kits are definately KEY at the beginning.
ONE THING IVE LEARNT THE HARD WAY! DONT ASK FOR SOMEONE TO REZ YOU UNTIL YOU ARE AT LEAST LVL 6 UNLESS THROUGH TALK CUZ THEY ARE RIGHT NEXT TO YOU! Youll just frustrate people... after level 6 or so it becomes a bit more understandable cuz of the increased xp loss.
Lol thats all I can think of for now... Hope it helps

There is so much loot you should have high str or bull str or you'll be dragging your sorry [censored] every where.
Spot may help with all the pker builds that use hide in plain sight. (cowards
)
Int is good beacuse several skills are needed, like dicsipline, concentration, heal, id, spot... I made a char with 8 int and he gets 1 skill point per level, hard to get those needed skills at that rate.
If your str is low and you want to get to town to sell gear, yell at okies or slaves and they'll find you and pk you and free ride home

A few suggestions for new players that might be unfamiliar with the PvP setting of NS4 -
Don't run into a field spell unless you cast it. Alternately, wanking & complaining about high levels PKing newbs after you blissfully ran into an existing field spell may not win you many friends. Wanking & complaining after a high level INTENTIONALLY drops an area effect spell on you will also tend to annoy people, but at least you'd have a good excuse.
Running up to an "impossible" red and trying to start a conversation may seem perfectly harmless to you, but anyone who has been killed while typing may hold a different view. Likewise, sending an unsolicited party invitation while someone is attempting to heal may prove to be a less-than-popular move.
As you run around your home city, you may notice loot bags left behind by players on a city raid. While it may be tempting to grab the high level goodies left behind in these bags, doing so while the players responsible for making the previous owners of said items into loot bags are still fighting is generally referred to as ninja looting. Ninja looters often end up spending some quality time as statues.
On a similar note, jumping uninvited into a fight between another player and a critter they have damaged is generally referred to as kill-stealing, and may also result in stoning. Kill-stealing is bad.
If it has "Okie" in its name, you may kill it. Unless, of course, it also has "Potter" in its name, in which case it will log out in the middle of combat if anyone so much as passes gas too loudly.
Avendell is, hypothetically, a no-PvP zone. I say hypothetically primarily because it hasn't always been reliably possible to get into Avendell to PvP in the first place. Check your summoned pets to prevent any "accidents".

Note to players:
If you have an epic level char and you come across a "noob" do not just start randomly casting spells on them....it freaks the people out.
My appologies go out to Oakie Momma J whom I met down in the tunnel.
The naked monk Hector extends his regret for not sticking around longer...
