Normal Vendors PLZ!!!

Post by JesterOI »

The vendor system is cool and all for buying stuff, but it is seriously terrible for selling and id'ing stuff.
Server crashes and I loose 3 million gold worth of loot that I just sold.

Could we please have a normal vendor in each town where we can sell and id stuff and not have to go through the absolute BS of using the modified vendors that are only good for buying stuff? Let's bring it back to NS3 style plz.

Unfortunately I think that means using the bioware pricing scheme... and that is seriously broken.

I just sell things in small quantities. Enough to fill a page. Rest. Start again. I haven't lost that much. I lose a mil every time I respawn, so that's not nearly as bad :)

Also, bioware style shopkeepers retain their inventory. I think one of the advantages of the NS4 shopkeepers is that when you sell them something the item is destroyed and the server no longer needs to keep track of it.

It is fairly easy to write a merchant clean up script, however, bioware pricing is very odd ball.
