Good vs Evil, the true balance

Before I start, I will first point out that I know the following suggestion would probably not come to pass because our dev's, while good at his/her dev job, have real lives that do not involve NS4 and this would solve a couple of issues that have been brought up elsewhere but it would create different problems....this is just my two cents worth on a more RP NS4.

The world of NS4 should be more good or evil....much like that other game I do not play, WoW. Some alignment restrictions would have to get changed for the good, evil cities.

Evil
Evil cities would be SL with their Assassins, MA with their PM's and AO with their RDD's.

Good
Good cities would be NC with their CoT's, RK with their DD's and LA (yes LA gets opened back up...maybe give them Harper Scout for their unique prestiage).

Neutral
That leaves the Circle as a true neutral city. So, we help the Circle out by switching the CG alignment to NE and giving them wiz and sorcs. Now they'll have no alliance but get zen aa's and bg's.

Oh man, thats crazy. But I wouldn't half mind being in war with everyone when playing TC. :)

It does kinda swap TC with LA, guess it can work if TC gets all current LA benifits :) especially the "port to" widget..

were you going to keep the current alliances, or were you thinking of going with the good vrs evil vrs neutral?

That was his point, changing the alliance structure to GvNvE.

I was going for the Good vs Evil vs Neutral. I'm not a dev or dm but I wouldn't hold your breathe on the port to widget...you could suggest the speed increase that la used to get...just saying.

as far as the roleplay of the server. How would this fit in?

There is roleplay on the server? hehe, I mean, you can roleplay as captain america i guess.


I kind of feel like there is already good vs evil vs neutral, good being NC and TC, neutral being AO and RK, and evil being SL and MA. I know that the line between things is a bit blurry, with TC being seen as a bit more neutral and AO being seen as a bit more evil (but I think that is just because pwnd likes to play more of the evil side of things sometimes), but otherwise it fits pretty well.

Isn't the server balanced as is? In my opinion, the Devs have already achieved an amazing balance on the server.
The PvP has slowed down on the server only due to player attendance. Many of the AO/RK players that seem to be taking a break will return...of that I am certain.
Recently, there have been many great fights between the SL and TC/NC factions....always a good time.
The DM staff has been active about getting the PvP rolling as well......particularly when they log the DMz crew and start raiding in earnest.

LA would require a severe nerf, or everyone would join in like they did before. LA had more characters than all other other factions combined, next most popular faction was AO because of their lack of restrictions.

yes, by role play i was talking about the back story of the player world. the whole getting sucked into the realm, and the different factions being against each other. you know the whole reason why it's not just attack everyone on sight/free for all.

But i agree with rufio, the alignments are kinda set. Except i see NC as good, TC as Neutral, SL as evil and Ao/RK/MA as all in between.

Also every faction that has jobs has a speed increase token thingy. or at least they used to. NC has their defender of the pure. and now i think about it they are the only ones....didn't the other factions used to have speed token thingys too?
