Buffing Item.
Buffing Item.
Some type of inventory item that you can use to cast spells on yourself that you already have memorized. It can be done because I played on a server that had such an item and this request is born from pure laziness. The server I used it on wouldn't let you put spells that were extended, maximized, etc. First you have to memorize the spells, then you cast them on the item. The item "remembers" the spells and when you rest again if you have the spells memorized you click on the item then use it on yourself or another to cast them on the target. It doesn't give extra spell slots it just makes it so you don't have to click 50 times to buff. The item on said server only allowed 10 spells to be "remembered" this way and if you activated the item and clicked on the ground it cleared the list from the item so you could change the spell layout on it. Just an idea from an extremely lazy player.
Re: Buffing Item.
We have slash commands instead. /buff record, /buff stop, /buff start. I believe.
P.S. Have an awesome.

Re: Buffing Item.
/buff start
select the wanted spells (only spells you get from cleric domains and job tokens won't work here)
/buff stop
activate with /buff (you can put it as a macro on a quickslot as well)
if you want to start a new combination type /buff clear to get rid of the old one

Re: Buffing Item.
and don't forget to turn on your pk notification (so you can see when people get killed)
/enablepknotify
Edit: Why is this not turned on by default when you create your toon?

Re: Buffing Item.
If you have an existing /buff set and you do not /buff clear it, then you can append to it by using /buff start again.
eg:
/buff start
bulls
cats
/buff stop
(/buff will now cast them in order:
bulls
cats)
/buff start
endurance
wisdom
/buff stop
using /buff will now do all four in that order

/buff start
bulls
cats
/buff stop
(/buff will now cast them in order:
bulls
cats)
/buff start
endurance
wisdom
/buff stop
using /buff will now do all four in that order

Re: Buffing Item.
Can this command be used to buff others or does it only work on the caster?

I think it only works on the caster

You can use it to buff your summon too. But you have to summon it first.
It should work on partymembers too.

Re: Buffing Item.
It works on summons and party members.
As Nylene noted you must summon it first, then set up buff sequence. If you put the summon spell into yoru buff sequence, it will summon it but not buff it, as the summon and or party members must be present at the moment you active buff sequence, aka /buff
If your gonna be working with the same group of people it can be worth redoing your buff sequence to include them. Most commonly though its sufficient to just load it for you and any summon u use.
While your buff sequence is in prcess of being cast you can target yourself, your summon or party members with any additional spells you wish to, and it will just be added to your buff que (top left of yoru screen show what buffs are in your que to be cast) This doesnt work in reverse, ie you target several buffs from quick bar or casting wheel and while they are being cast, you active your buff sequence (/buff), doing this will clear your present casting que and begin your recorded que.
Party members joining or leaving party during the buffing process will clear your casting que. Hence its a common practice to not invite new members during this or leave the party in same.
If using a summon, I typically load his buffs first then my own, so that if a monster or enemy should happen to wander within range while buffing, your summon is preped first and can move out to meat the threat, while you continue to prep thy self.
Buffing order, I prefer to load my buffs by order of duration, the longest lasting cast fist with the short term buffs last. Some combat buffs like Divine Power, Divine Favor, Aura vrs Alingment, and Mass Haste, can offten be left out of the recorded buffing sequence. Simply cast them as soon as the monster is sighted, or before you enter a room or zone that you know will contain a threat, or in the case of mass haste, cast it once the party is ready to move out.
When you start to run in higher lvl parties, its offten advisable to put see invis or true sight towards the begining of your sequence. Because while you are casting yours, others in party may be using improved invisability, and you will not be able to target any add on spells to those they ii (improved invisbility) without the ability to see the target. This is esspecially true if you have buffs for party members in your recorded buff sequence.
As noted above, the buff recorder will not store buffs from your cleric domains.
