Drow Favorite Class Change

The current drow is listed as:
Favored Class: Cleric for female / Wizard for male
+2 Intelligence, +2 Charisma, Darkvision, Spell Resistance of 5 +1/lvl, +2 to all Will saving throws
Drow Aura: Gives the Drow and all his allies within the Aura 20% concealment, and any Aasamir that enter it are blinded by it. However, it makes the drow vulnerable to sneak attacks from all opponents, unless the drow has ultravision.
Light Sensitivity: -2 to all attack rolls, saves, and checks in brightly lit areas. Exposure to bright light, natural or magical, blinds the Drow for one round.
Level Adjustment +3

I get the wizard but why not make the female's favorite class sorc? Most cleric builds are not going to use this subrace because it does not get a bonus to Wisdom...just compare the Githzerai subrace to this one.

Drow society is a matriachy, this means the women rule. Since the Drow are followers of Lolth, the most supreme poition you can have is to be a cleric of Lolth. So the women all have an affinity for being clerics. The men work as grunts creating things like portals, items, etc so the women can just praise Lolth all day.

Yup... Moon Elves have wizard as their favorite class and they don't get a +2 int... there are sometimes RP reasons for things in NS4. Used to be that all clerics, male or female had cleric as their favorite class.

From a Drizzt point of view all noble females become clerics and male nobles become Wizards. Hence the favored class by sexual configuration. Even in PnP females were clerics, so I believe it is based in tradition.

Wizards or Fighters, depending on their affinity. House Weaponmasters were always held by a high ranking male fighter, and often was a concubine to their matron mother.
