Racial Skill Bonuses

The comments in the wiki are a bit misleading as to how these are actually applied. For example:

Gityanki +2 Discipline, +2 Taunt
"Fighter favored class and a boost to all three fighter stats. a boost to discipline, one of the most coveted skills."

Svirfneblin +2 Hide, +2 Search
"Increased Hide and Search when added to the dexterity bonus also opens up many Rogue possibilties."

Aasamir +2 Listen, +2 Spot
"the wisdom will add +1 will saves to any character and all characters can use the Spot/Listen boost."

In reality, if you were planning on taking these skills in the first place, all it is doing is saving you 2 skill points (4 if its a multiclass skill). At level 40, a svirfneblin with maxxed hide will still only have 43 in the skill. But it only cost you 41 points to do it. Racial skill bonuses are not like feats, which add the bonus to to your character sheet, or apply the bonus to the roll.

The wiki makes it sound like you get an extra 2 skill points, effectively giving you 45 instead of 43 points at lvl 40, and I have spoken with a few people in game who were under this assumption as well. Personally, I tell people that racial skill bonuses don't mean anything and to pretty much ignore them completely unless you are trying to figure out where to put every last skill point while planning.

Becarefull as well, if you drop 4 points into discipline on first level and youre subrace gives 2 skill points... when you level up to level 2 you only have the 2 skill points. So you dont have extra skill points, you lose 2 cuz the script strips you of your 4 places skill points
