Cleric Buff Override
A suggestion concerning all those cleric battle buffs (bless, aid, prayer, battletide, aura vs alignment) is that a freshly cast buff, or even just a superior buff, could cancel and override any pre-existing buff.
For example, your paladin friend casts bless on the party whilst buffing, but you (the high level cleric) have an Aura vs Alignment ready to go. The way things currently stand, if you cast AvA after the bless was cast, then your AvA will have absolutely no effect, and the party will only receive the benefits of a wimpy 1st level spell. What I propose in this situation is that the AvA could just override the bless, and be the active battle buff instead of bless.

Not a bad idea at all, but personally I'd rather have developers work on bigger things when a problem like this can be fixed with some simple communication within the party.

Another idea - how about making all those buffs stack for pure clerics? Mmmmmm .... what would that be, +14 AB, +17 damage?

Yeah, I know - I was suggesting that might be a nice bonus for a pure cleric
And also, make it a permabuff for NC - cos we love our gods the most!

Re: Cleric Buff Override
I just have to comment on how intelligent and accurate the two posts (and the posters themselves) above this one are!!
But that is a good Pure Cleric Idea-let the buffs stack, but perhaps no more than 1 of each, or maybe let any 2 buffs stack. Better go look for that thread and put it in there...

Re: Cleric Buff Override
Limit is 20, witch includes spells and weapon. Almost all clerics will hit this limit with a bard in the party.( wep +6, divinw fawor +3, divine power +4, haste +1, aura +3 = +17) whitch means he wil only get 3 from a maxed bard, and a cleric using a +8 wep will get 1 O.ofrogofpeace wrote:Another idea - how about making all those buffs stack for pure clerics? Yeah, try comunicating with the gahele that insists on casting bless once I start buffing to defend :pMalik wrote:Not a bad idea at all, but personally I'd rather have developers work on bigger things when a problem like this can be fixed with some simple communication within the party.

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

I'd still prefer the devs work on other things, may I suggest casting your higher level cleric buff before hers... Or maybe standing away from the Gahele?VagaStorm wrote:

Hmm... I thought there was a difference with this with the 2 weapon properties:VagaStorm wrote:Limit is 20, witch includes spells and weapon. Enhancement Bonus vs. Attack Bonus
I thought EB doesn't count toward the +20 and AB did (ie: monk gloves, bows, and that rash of new weapons that came out with the wrong property on them)
But back to the topic.... I'm not sure some classes SHOULD ever get any specific 'pure class' bonuses, like:
-cleric/sorc/wiz: All get hellball bonuses at 35 and 40
-drd/clc/soc/wiz: All get mummy dust bonuses right up to 40
-bard: gets nice curse-song bonuses at 38 and 40
-drd/clc: get very high SR
-sorc/wiz: get bonuses to timestop at 40
-druid: gets dragonshape if pure
-all-of-the-above: get highest penetration, the longest lasting, and (nearly) undispellable buffs at 40
I thought the whole point of "pure class" was to make ns4 exactly like World of W... Err...I mean, was meant to make up for the POWER of the caster classes to help melee based toons out without going to the (fun) trouble of creative multiclassing.

Re: Cleric Buff Override
Just kill some of your guards.. then you'll go hostile and they won't buff you anymore.
