Re: Good vs Evil, the true balance
Genius! Hurray!
And the evil NC PCs would be automatically hostile to the Daeron NPC's, and get smote by the Coalition Paladins - see, balance is restored, and even cooler than the non-player friendly breath weapons in Sleeth. Hurray!
Might annoy Torm, tho ...

Basically he's giving a reason why CoTs/Rogues will never be. They aren't that good anyway.

Meh its more of a Neutral or Evil thing... could even be considered a lawful neutral.. a sect dedicated to the silent art.Ghostly wrote:Its fair that NC should get rogues.. Cripling can be considered a means to incapasitate with out killing, a little more more brutal than stun fist, but the opponet has the option to surender.

Re: Good vs Evil, the true balance
Since they would only be crippling the evil that threatens NC, I think it's totally reasonable to have rogues in NC. Read the NWN description of rogues, it says there is no alignment restriction, and that they can be diplomats and scouts. By skill point count, one could even say that they would be our scholars.
If they are restricted to good alignment, then they wouldn't do naughty things like pick people's pockets anyway, but the trap disabling would greatly improve the safety of those in the North, and the Knock spell will only get us so far when evil hides its shameful visage behind locked doors (since it's not really a DC that you can do anything about).
We value the Bard for her Rogue-ish skills, yet we may not embrace the progenitor of those skills? If you cut a Neutral Good Rogue, do they not bleed?

Then let's get rid of LA, and make a new faction named Khorne instead.LinuxPup wrote:LA would require a severe nerf, or everyone would join in like they did before. LA had more characters than all other other factions combined, next most popular faction was AO because of their lack of restrictions.

I like the idea. Also make it so that when any player is close to a hostile it automaticaly charges it, without any control.Carejo wrote:Then let's get rid of LA, and make a new faction named Khorne instead.LinuxPup wrote:LA would require a severe nerf, or everyone would join in like they did before. Tzeentch is the best chaos god of all.
I have always imagined that when shamed prepares for relic events, he grabs his bull horn, he finds his Napoleon hat, and he settles in for a weekend of barking orders and generally pissing off everyone in the tc/nc coalition. - Burrahobbit

Tzeentch gets slaped around by Khorne. Khorne is the man.Shamedmonkey wrote:Tzeentch is the best chaos god of all.
