I simple think it is a joke that people automatically want something changed they dont like especially when it come to spells!!!
And if you actually took the time to read my full post you would see that I said what else can a pure mage use for the lock and trap's in this world if these spells dont work!!
I also said which you also seemed to skip in your infinite wisdom that I do think the spell should be changed to reflect on the mages caster level and if they have spell focus in the required school as to what level/DC of trap/lock they should be able to open/disarm with these spells.
SO before you type something stupid on your keyboard actually read what is being said!!!!!
Today trap fixes

or didn't you read your own post?Because unless you want to cross class a mage the are going to have fu*ck*d pick lock ability compared to a rogue also to powerfull go figure I think any class can be considered overpowering to certain builds and I must say I disagree that mages are to powerfull.

one thing i found particularly interesting was that this is not an arcane spell. It is a lvl 2 CLERIC spell.Find Traps
You gain intuitive insight into the workings of traps. You can use the search skill to detect traps just as a rogue can. In addition, you gain an insight bonus equal to one-half your caster level (maximum +10) on search checks made to find traps while the spell is in effect.
Note that find traps grants no ability to disable the traps that you may find.

We already have a long history of adjusting things to the 3.5 ruleset so you cant even say we were going after an isolated issue. As time and effort progresses things I am positive we will see more changes for better conformity.
