Because thats a PvP server for you. . . you have to be prepared to be bigbied, disarmed, sneak attacked, death attacked, Scythe WM critted, etc, etc, etc.
But besides the disarm thing, all those PVP things are PVP without consequences, sure you lose some time and maybe a bit of pride, but like it was already said a few times never anything permanent. Thats why you dont lose experience now when someone kills you.
Now you might be fine with losing items from pvp but a whole lot of people wont be.
And if you look at how many bad feelings are created now already with our PVP without consequences imagine how bad it will be when people not only get killed, but lose items they worked long and hard for.

Exactly. Now it couldn't be more clear that you don't mind when people dislike you, Korr  But it's different to not care for someone and have someone able to rob you of what you've worked for. Again, I'm with Nyeleni for making it more open, but disallowing the endgame gear from it, and if I had my way the same thing would happen with Disarm: A disarmer takes your Level 30+ weapon, it goes into your pack. Having one feat and a lucky roll shouldn't net you weapons that other people work hard and long to get. Disarm is changed so that most monsters aren't disarmable, yet people are? I consider that crap. If things are that hard to get, they should at least be yours for good once you get them.
Rain it seems that I come from a different world than you. My first experience with an online game was one called "MajorMUD" this game is HUGE (as far as areas). Alot of areas you cant get into without special preparation. For those who dont know MUDs are text based games (or atleast were when I played them) originally (generally everything is a MUD now since it stands for Multi-User Dungeon). Many servers let you "script" to get experience considering the leveling rate in MajorMUD vs NWN is about 1000 times faster in NWN (thats being generous and not a joke). So when you are scripting afk overnight in some area and someone decides to come kill you, well say he does manage to kill you too. All your items are gone except a few quest items (like plot items in NWN) that are "loyal". So in order to get your stuff back you have to make it back to where you died and hope the guy didnt make off with anything. Generally all your stuff (atleast the good stuff) is gone, and you have to go get it back.
Sounds like an entirely different game, and not one I'd be interested in. Personally, most of my multiplayer experience was in FFXI, where it took a full year to reach the highest level in a single job, and countless hours of camping and waiting, as well as a high degree of luck to get items. FFXI had no PvP at all, however, unless both people went to a prechosen location and made it happen. Stealing worked only on monsters.

For those that dont like the PP be thankful you are not playing on EftU.
Not only can they PP you but when you die you make the naked run back to your body hoping no one looted your corpse, although when someone did there was an announcement server wide and the items were marked as such.
I put the IO in socIOpath!

yes there are other games where things are different, or hell there are probably even servers of this game where if you die you die and need to start over, not sure how thats relevant :P

Most monsters rain are disarmable, but they have CRANKED up discipline. Generally any of the larger size creatures arent as far as Ive noticed though(dunno why that is). . . and then a few odds and ends here and there.

Disarm states:
Many NPC characters are un-disarmable for reasons of balance and module-economy
And I see why, you can't just disarm every Glimmerskin, Death Archer, or Drider u see and load up with outstanding weapons. I say that if you can't get it off the monsters that way, you shouldn't be able to get it off people that way either.

the disarming is thus far from personal experience, not from what the wiki says.

You would be amazed at what will drop.

If it can be disarmed and kept from a monster, then it's not all that hard to get. Disarming from players doesn't restrict anything, be it a DM forced drop even.

Many of the best weapons can be disarmed. You just havent made a disarmer to try it.

What if Pick Pockets worked like defending your faction area. ie... You use Pick Pocket you get gold unless the target doesn't have enough gold to give then you get a random item. You would have to put a large delay on Pick Pocket to keep people from spamming it and draining gold but it would give the Pick Pocketer a chance to get something good while at the same time if you lose an item it's really only your own fault for not having enough gold on the character. It would probably be a good idea to make this ability only work within a level range and make the gold value increase with these levels.
