Already got those, rings and other gear that gives +spellcraft.CrazyJ wrote:Something that duplicates the Spellcraft save bonus would probably do the trick. +10 to saves vs spells should go a long ways towards helping.
More saves isn't the answer. If you have a build with crap saves in one of the areas, you deserve to be pounded by spells that exploit that.

I think Yoda is aiming for the "if it's repeated enough it becomes the truth"...
Hurray for tenacity!

Make some crusty sour merchant that hates the big 3 spellslingers in Avendell that sells potions only to builds that don't include cleric, wiz, or sorc. And make those potions non-drop.
As far as I know you could toss a unique ability on to that potion and get some really cool custom effects.
Also, have the merchant do a character level check on the player so that the merchant can sell potions fitting the level of the player.
I know that players can already go to other players to get potions made, but this can be a real hassle. Having an NPC that can do this instead (even at slightly higher prices than buying from a PC) would probably cure a lot of headaches.

I don't think that guilds are the answer.
Personally, I'm a member of one guild but didn't join it with a tagged character. I was invited due to my participation in a city defense.
I just play and group with whomever I run across, provided they don't conflict too much with my factional alignment. Currently I'm focused more on a NC Paladin so that rules out partying with some people... Unless the group is generally a decent-sized one.
But, if you're in some of the more trafficked areas, then finding a group to party and level with generally is not very hard... Provided you aren't a total idiot in party tactics and get your group killed.
But, yeah... I've had fun running through Amazons in a random party with a 30th level Fighter/WM and with tons of cleric and mage buffs. If I get some stoneskin, Bulls, Improved Invisibility, haste, and Freedom I'm an Amazonian Cuisinart.

The "join a guild" answer is just ignoring the issue, that warriors can't stand up to casters. If you like playing casters, that probably doesn't bother you an awful lot, and you'll wander into a thread called "Strengthening fighters v. casters" and say things like "join a guild" instead of talking about possible solutions to the general ineffectiveness of warrior builds.
If you like playing warriors, it might bother you a little, and rather than tag along with casters, you might try to come up with solutions. Maybe balance between casters and non-casters seems rather pointless or impractical, but that's what we're discussing here. "Join a guild" is not the sort of solution we're looking for, Yoda.

I think, though, that you may be focusing too much on the PvP aspect of the server and not the PvM aspect. And that is where you are limiting yourself.
Yes, given that spellcasters can essentially buff themselves into a greater melee presence than a fighter is pretty well known. Granted, the quickrest and rebuff kind of skews things a bit in their favour. And yes, the low warrior will save is well documented.
Do I always group with casters? Nope. In fact I tend to solo a lot. Groups sometimes get me killed the with Rambo types. Sure, soloing a large open space with nothing but a shield and sword and casters about can be pretty damned scary. But, really it comes down to playing the class that you've chosen.
Pure melee are going to not be able to take on a bunch of casters in an open area. Don't even try it. You know how ugly it will end. So, pick your battles and use strategy.
And really, the biggest PvP action that I get into is during faction raids. And you're bound to end up with a few casters on your side to help out with buffs.
There is still plenty a pure melee character can do without having to make the casters sacrifice the very qualities that made players pick them in the first place.

take Zons for example, a pure wizard without a tank (includes dragon knight) will not be able to do anything great there, now a pure melle will chew thru them like oatmeal to a starving kid... note that it will still be hard but not close o impossible, the caster has to rest when he runs out of spells the fighter just keeps using KD/disarm...
on pvp its normally 1v1 2v2 ish... the caster can dump the whole book and be at top, but noe that as soo as offencive spells are gone, he is just a buffed sitting duck and 90% of the time will run away
