You can relog all you want and it will not get rid of the paralyzation. I have used it and watched people log and relog and they always came back the same...paralyzed. It is a time based paralyzation that is apparently controlled on the server side.mgrjebbo wrote:lol why didnt you just relog m8, its a wonderful tactic against timestop, figure it would work the same against any paraylize that is put in.
Assassin's have been discussed to death in our dev forums and on the public forums. We haven't gotten around to them for the reason that the staff is just so busy. In a prefect world, they'd have already been given their due, but you know how that goes.
Keep the good ideas rolling, and no reason to keep talking about logging ect... This forum is for ideas and suggestions, not ways to avoid combat.

Serving NS4 proper as Lathander and Sleeth as Bahamut.
Yes, I'm a DM, but your build still sucks.

How about a smoke bomb that allows them to hips only a few times a day.
Ninja style
Or perhaps give them a non-detection ability, like in Baldur's Gate 2, making them unable to be spotted or listened for there first hide (eg once per day). This probably isnt an option in NWN but perhaps just code it so it buffs hide/ms to a godly amount temperarily.
Boosting Death Attack DC, this is the point to being an assassin so might aswell make it useful. Perhaps make it non-saveable while hidden.
The move at normal speed while hidden was a nice idea.
Making them able to craft poisons, uber ones too, depending on level, like traps.
Allow access to rogue bonus feats, eg crippling strike and imp evasion, def roll.
Better death attack dmg.
They are some ideas

Do not see madness as a curse,

But a mercy none-the-less.

thats essentially exploitation, as is doing the same while timestoppedmgrjebbo wrote:right so log off, go watch some tv and come back. why would anyone want to just sit there for 30 mins and do nothing while an assassin plays with them like a cat would a mouse.
dm testing is another thing, i am saying this as if it were a player.
"O cruel fate, floating through the void of space like gravity's plaything. O to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones, it bones for thee."

Make the save for Death Attack a high reflex.
That way, someone with ungodly abilities to dodge an incoming attack has a slight chance of seeing it coming and moving just in time.
I like the smokescreen idea.
I also like the idea of Death Attack being an instant death attack, but the downside to this is that if there is no save at all then the server will be full of them...take a look at the other things that bring instant death around here, Dev. Crit., Implosion (was made a single target spell)... In my opinion there ought to be an attainable save.

Currently, save is 10 + (Assassin levels) + Int, with a realistically attainable range for a pure assassin around DC 40-44.
Slightly lower than, say, monk stunning fist, mainly because INT is wholly useless other than boosting DC, whereas WIS is quite useful for monks to boost. Not sure it needs a boost, however - without spellcraft bonuses to saves, that is decently high. [Does it still hit through Freedom and Mind Blank?]
Poisons would be very neat.
Keep the save.
Not sure insta death would be needed. Anyone who is paralyzed for 30 rounds would be very lucky to still be alive, with a high level sneaker bashing them.

But, it's such a draining job that, until you've DMed on an NWN server yourself, you the playerbase, have got to cut the DMs some slack. - Flailer

Edit: Sorry didn't see there was a page 2 to this topic. My bad.

If monks stuning fisr bypases all those, wich it dos, so should the assassin atack....Lorkar1 wrote:It does not bypass FoM. Or anything that gives an immunity to paralysis. It should beat mindblank since mindblank does not refer to paralysis in the spell description.

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

Paralysis paralyzes.
FoM gives immunity to paralysis, not stuns.
And while I agree that if the Death Attack is going to be a paralyze attack that it should bypass FoM...I think that the last time someone brought it up one of the dev's said it was hard-coded.
I think that's when the suggestion for making it a kill button instead of a paralyze attack came in...not entirely sure...
