heh ya the no-clipping issue doesent allwase happen id say about 25% of the time you get these noclipping mobs. its not just ice giants either ive seen the ogres on the trail exibit this behavior too. but thats a error or bug and not some feature of design.

I soloed ice giants at level 22 with my tank build.

waaaaa waaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

its to hard. I can't solo. why can't level 40 be handed to me on a silver platter.

I have not played so much but I can see that there are totally different difficulties for the same challenge ratings.

like merfolk imperials or the nexus creatures being quite a bit harder than the frostdale mobs. in my opinion anyway.

Party of six smash the giants, party of one stick to efreets. Because they are easy. Don't know if thats a good thing or not.

Efreets are only easy if you have Evasion and/or if your AC is above a certain level.

Otherwise you still can get creamed by their cone attacks, especially if you've got low hp.

If the server's full and there's nobody partying in your level range it can be hard... although in that case I usually just spend the 2-5 minutes relogging after advertising the levels of all my active chars.

I can solo Efreets as a cleric, Evasion helps but the only people that are going to have trouble there are no-reflex melee'rs who can still party there or heal over their pains. Its not near as bad as it used to be, now theres actually a good amount of xp thats worth it.

And no, I didn't bring a power-cleric. Hes healer-support, no cheese for me 8) . But seriousy, you can do that place with a party. Get a monk or rogue to soak cones with their Evasion, then have whoever else in the party beat the living crap out of everything else. Quite simple actually.

Solo-ing wise, I really don't think someone would waste their time of solo-ing Jin Lance Voo. A caster could summon meat shields mutliple times to soak Hellballs, but Voo is just going to beat the crap out of them eventually anyway. His saves are godly, and any melee class that tries to take on 3 hellballs, an uber boss, and the efreet gang deserves to slapped upside their head.

Or given an award for bravery and Prowess. *smiles smugly*.
Its all about the challenge folks. Anyone can build a toon but to brave and maximize skills. To overcome overwhelming obsticles in the face of grave danger is the whole reason i play this game. Admitly I love takin a mage an wailing all through FD (easiest lvls i ever earned) but to rise up and defeat an enemy against all odds is the real reward to any encounter.

Phew = wOOt!.

Wizards/sorcs can solo Jin even at low lvls, I have seen rogue builds solo him too. Problem with Jin is he has a bad habit of never droping a single item although i killed him doesens of times, but thats probably only my bad luck.
