Ah, well the only Highlord Helm I've ever seen looked like it was black and white. So maybe it was spoils of war. Haven't really been to Sunken myself, since none of my characters can survive there, and I've been concentrating more on building up crafters instead of power builds.
Some of the armours in Sunken are actually blaock with other colour thrown in...

Highlord Helm and Armor are black and white.

Black pearl Helm is black and green.

Piranha helm, dropped by the dual-wielder is I think a black and dark copper.

here is an idea. lets try to start making a few class specific items. weed them in a little. i know a pally just isn't a pally without his holy avenger. cheese builds or no i think class specific items would be a good thing to start investing in at a closer date than the ns "soon".

^ Agree. I know there are already some class specific items (I just got my hands on some "monk only" gloves), but more would be good.

Especially some Harper Scout only stuff.

Sounds good, but really good stuff like this should be limited to the upper levels, say level 16 or 20. Probably the devs would do this anyway, but really great class specific stuff should be epic in nature.

And in the case of signature items like Holy Avengers, maybe they could be granted as rewards for high level faction quests; I think giving out a no drop Holy Avenger would be a great award for an NC paladin quest meant for the higher levels (maybe involving something like slaying the Unknown Evil or whatever it's called). Make players truely earn these items instead of hoarding a dozen of them on a mule and handing them out to other players.

That kind of remind me about the recent discussion about characters using gear that drops from their faction bosses. Instead of trading with a character who is likely an enemy of your faction (though such allegainces don't mean all that much to the current player base) for spoils of war from a raid on your faction, how about making some very good gear that's given out as a reward for accomplishing a major and significant task for your own faction? Such items should be no drop so they can't be traded, and these quests should be targeted to specific classes so a character doesn't get a piece of equipment he either can't equip, or is suboptimal for the character.

Something happen to the Holy Avenger spell? Besides it meaning wisdom can't be a dump stat for Paladin I mean ;)

The Holy Avenger item property is still totally fugged--because of the way Bio checks effects you have a much better than 25% chance of dispelling spells on hit--way too powerful. Is there an improvement you'd like made to the spell?

I can mess with the crafting conversation to add options to dispel item specific spells from your own equipment...so you can turn off Bless Weapon for a Darkfire or Holy Avenger when you run out of undead to smack around. (Well we could do something so you could have multiple spells on items and turn them off/on as you like...that's more than a minor project though.)

multiple spells on items would be nice. i tried to load up with some spells on my pally and it kept telling me that "this item is already enchanted with a spell". even though i was trying to cast 2 different ones. it is also annoying with a pally when you cast bless weapon because after the spell wears off you must rest or else you cannot cast the spell on your weapon again.

another thing to look into would be for crafted weapons and armor to get something special after you gain MA in a craft. instead of just a +4 or so like it is now crafters could possibly add a little something xtra to the item to make it a viable choice between drops and made. this would also make very high lvl crafters sought after and a thing to be.

Yeah that is a good idea .... choice of what elemental damage , on hit whatever ..... that would make crafting more than worth it .

Not only that, then there would be specialty weapons for all high lvl's, everyone hears about there weapon of choice not haveing anything at lvl 20, doing such would put alot more weapons out there for people to take or want to take knowing they can finally get a axe that would hold up in battle as a equal to the hammers(seems to be alot of specialty hammers is why i used this example)

Hmmm...

What about changing the crafting script to make factional based weapons... Master Artisans can assume to have been trained by the teachers in their factions to imbue their weapons with appropriate enchantments that reflect the focus of that faction.

Hmmmm.....was thinking about what everyone has said about crafting and it got me thinking that they all have a good point but the problem I forsee is that everyone will have at least one or maybe more, Master Artisan's. This equipment from bosses/faction leaders is supposed to be like one of a kind, unique stuff, right?

However, faction specific crafting sounds pretty good to me.....for example: Dwarves of Ragnar's Clan can make axes with bonus's vs. Giants or elves; NC can make stuff very useful against undead......ect....

This doesn't eliminate ppl from going after bosses/leaders for their gear but yet now Craftsman can make items that enhance the faction's members ability's.

Also, maybe a quest for Master Artisan's to accomplish in the hopes of becoming a Legendary Artisan?....Just an idea. Thanks.

There's an idea in there that might be particularly easy to do(at least from a balance stand-point). One of the most common problems in introducing new gear seems to be (well, to me anyways) that there's always a question of making one class too powerful compared to others. And of course this is most important in PvP.

One way to add a little variety without really changing balance would be to (as the person above stated) give certain faction bonus to crafted items that would reflect that specific faction, but not be of value for PvP. ie, + vs. giants, + vs undead, + vs dragons (ok, maybe a little pvp there against the shifters, but heh), + vs rats for LA (ok, bad joke).

Or maybe not make them faction specific, just a little bonus like that to certain items every now and then.

Or perhaps that's too difficult to put in(since I have NO idea what goes on inside the game)?
