Any chance you folks might consider allowing high Heal skill characters to rez using healing kits (maybe 1x/day at 30, 2x/day at 40, 3x/day at 50, etc)?

I think The ranges need to be fixed, that's all. A heal potion should have a higher min heal amount than the max of a cure critical and so on (not based on the mins/maxes that are in place now).
Instead it would be like 1-10, 11-30, 31-80, 81-130, 131-190.
Ranges would increase but slightly... 9, 19, 39, 49, 59.
These are just suggestions.

Well, I do think that non-clerics should be able to raise people from the dead. I normally think of rods of ressurection for this. Aren't rods supposed to be useable by everyone??Bob wrote:Two things -

I suppose rezzing with a heal kit would fall into the "epic" use of a skill. If they were to do this, it would have to have a monstrous DC, requiring epic skill focus and maybe equipment, AND require special healing kits (epic heal kit?) because allowing a char to use those little +1 heal kits to rez would be insane.
The highway of fear is the quickest route to defeat.
Rods aren't dropping in NS4, and I don't think there are any plans to add them. Raise Dead scrolls seem to be the intended replacement, if you can get a cleric to whip some up for you (or you have a cleric/cleric mule to make them for yourself).
From what the devs have been saying about NS4, an emphasis on skills & overall character builds is supposed to replace the old NS3 emphasis on items.
The healing skill was supposed to get a boost, but so far I haven't found any poisons or diseases that can't be cured with 0 skill and a couple rings. In terms of actions/round and amount healed, potions are more reliable (even if they negate Expertise, etc). Rezzing at high skill levels would make it worthwhile to spend points in, and use/day would keep the non-cleric types from being able to run around and rez at will.
Make it too restrictive though, and you might as well not bother.
