Re: Book Exchanger
10x broken books = -2 book?

Re: Book Exchanger
If by "easy" you mean "pure barbarian ONLY", then yes. It's "easy". For every other type of build on the server, it's useless.and it's easy to find use for a build with intimidate
Taunt is a similar mid-level skill. It's only useful if you build for it, whereas disc/spot/hide can be make-or-break skills for entire groups of builds (for instance, */SD).

Re: Book Exchanger
Useful skills: Hide/MS/Disc. Rest tend to be capped / be forced contests / not matter whatsoever.

Re: Book Exchanger
My first toon here pumped Appraise as that skill was used on the server i'd just left to significantly increase the value of goods sold to vendors. Not happy when I found it wasn't used.
Re: Book Exchanger
Are you guys comeing out with this or not cause i got like 50 broken books to trade......
Heh heard about it today and was hopeing to have someone say "Its going to be built!"

Re: Book Exchanger
Don't dismiss the idea that a DM might find a mini-event with a reward for broken books. It has happened before and I am pretty sure it will happen again.

Re: Book Exchanger
50-100 broken books for a +1 stat book. It wont devalue books currently in circulation or ones previously used but will offer an adequate and sought after reward. The coding would be as simple as changing the value of current book code. Leave the xp cost the same as a +2 book.
People wont be churning out super characters but it would offer builders options and flexibility to test new builds and new players to easily work toward creating competitive toons.

50 -100 broken books for a +1 to save tome (will, reflex, or fort)
Murphy's Law:
Nothing is as easy as it looks.
Everything takes longer than you expect.
And if anything can go wrong,
It will, at the worst possible moment.

Hmmm i think Elda's on to something here.Eldaquen wrote:50 -100 broken books for a +1 to save tome (will, reflex, or fort)
How about a Avendell Job token available for all factions. Giving level 10+ something to do other then grind ogre/giants.
I assume after MnM finishs AO jobs (soon by the sounds of it) he'll be an expert.
Playing other NWN servers and MMO's it is pretty apparant that people love Quests. A +1 save (one time only) for each save is a great reason to quest. It should be alot more challenging then our faction jobs. Perhaps make each quest available at 20,30 then 40 for each +1 save quest.
Champions Quest
Level 20
Collect boss heads (Jinn,Jugoo,FrostGiantbosses,Sunkenbosses,UnkownEvil,Mezzoboss,GnollChief,BanditKing,Demonlord,Gustav)
Level 30 (Zonbosses,Skara,inc Acolyte,IOD bosses,Terra,firelord,Mistress,Sealord,Shadowlord,Tigerboss,Rags,HoK)
Level 40 (Whitelord,Blacklord,HOD,DWP,DE,ELY,AByss,Celestia)
Not only would it allow new players to explore the server besides the main leveling areas, It'd allow old players to make there toons test thier mettle against all the bosses and get traffic in areas that are collecting dust for the most part
just an idea. New content creates more player traffic.

Re: Book Exchanger
I really like Alka's suggestion. It's not a huge change but it really does give us min maxers something to do.
I have always imagined that when shamed prepares for relic events, he grabs his bull horn, he finds his Napoleon hat, and he settles in for a weekend of barking orders and generally pissing off everyone in the tc/nc coalition. - Burrahobbit
Re: Book Exchanger
Good idea.
Will bring it to DM forums for further discussion.

Re: Book Exchanger
I like the idea, i'd just be wary about giving save bonuses simply because its already pretty easy to build things that can never fail a spell save dc in pvp.

Re: Book Exchanger
Save totals are no longer saved to character sheet (base is calculated on login). There's fort/reflex/will save bonus fields, I don't remember where they're used (used to just be able to change them and it'd work, but don't think that's the case anymore).
