Ideas for pure rouge

I'm not sure if these have been implemented yet, but as a 37 rouge I have some ideas for that class. First, I don't think we should get HIPS. Yes it would make things a ton easier, but we're rouges, not SD's. I wouldn't mind a distraction abilitiy. Something that would allow us to cause opponents to lose dex and grant the sneak attack. This could be an opposed check, maybe level + dex mod vs. concentration. Opponent would lose dex bonus to AC for 1d4 rounds? I would also like to see rouges immune to flanking. Not that you actually have to flank in NWN, just two allies on same opponent grants the bonus. That bonus would be more in line with pnp D&D. Only other suggestion at this time might be to allow us a reflex save vs knocdown.

Or on a successful sneak attack the target is slowed. Not as powerful as the assassin paralyze, but something to show that the target has been dealt a significant blow.

Called Shot feat lets you do that (reduce dex and movement speed)

Another thought that comes to mind is allowing us to remain hidden after setting a trap and being able to set them faster. Of course this one only works if your a trap setting rogue. Yes, I can now spell my favored class.

What I'd like to se in terms of bonuses is a +20 enhancement bonus against favoured enemies for rangers who can reach 40, and maybe a +20 enhancement bonus for Arcane Archers who can get 30 levels of that.

+20 is just a tiny bit over the top.
As a pure ranger you're able to take just about all favoured enemy choices.

And arcane archers don't really have an AB problem. A litte permanent speed buff for pure arcane archers would be nice though, for those tight situations.

I like the idea of being able to distract with rogues and I always wondered why the rogue sneak attack immunity against lower level rogues wasn't programed into NWN. Perhaps letting rogues use Bluff like it was intended to grant them Sneak Attacks by making thier opponent Flat Footed on the following round. Not sure if this is even something that can be easily programmed but it is something that is needed for rogues soloing.

The wiki lists the pure class bonus for fighters, jsut wondered if there were any pure class bonuses for cleric?

I shall continue to endeavor for the rights of clerics.. We want spell slots on armor.. and damn it we want pure class bonus.. Look at the artifact thread for my diea on a cleric armor with spell slots.. just make it crappy medium armor.. and give it like 10% vulnerability to all dmg types... and... bingo.. it can be used by caster style clerics.. but not so well by melee style clerics..


Anywho, back tothe point. I want a pure class bonus.. maybe some improved saves? or.. the ability to use arcane items? wands /staffs / rods? soemthign!

there is a big difference between pure class clerics and cheese cleric.

pure class clerics don't get : 4 attacks a round, umd, tumble, spot, listen, taunt, arcane scrolls, dicipline, can't ma craft anything.

granted if u go pure then ur spells are awesome with duration and are a lot harder to strip with despells.

when u multi class a cleric u make up for all there flaws with thbe 2 other classes u mix.

need discipline? add monk. 4 attacks a round, add fighter.
skills, rouge. arcane? bard.

theporpous of multi classing is to cheese out your build.

pure clerics aren't as good asyou would think.

reason for all the cleric bashing is one reason.

whens the last time you have seen a pure cleric?

pure cleric isn't anywhere near as good as other pure builds but is still a playable pure class.

I would like to see classes that are not as playable pure go in befoe clerics get touched.

granted clerics are my fav class but I think they should be twards the end of the list.

correct, with divine power and haste they get 6 :)

i agree with this as well, a pure cleric has the same problems as a pure wiz/sorc, maybe more. but they are still playable. basically any pure melee class is much weaker still (not counting bard which is probably strongest pure class) and they deserve bonuses first.

Um ya, Clerics are most likely last on the bonuses list. And they certaintly won't see bonuses before the main melee classes. Sheesh, Cleric's rights? They have the most rights on the server.
Serving NS4 proper as Lathander and Sleeth as Bahamut.

Yes, I'm a DM, but your build still sucks.
