Unarmed Monks
since gloves cannot have keen or massive crit on them how about after 20 lvls of monk if the monk has wep foc unarmed and imp crit unarmed they get overwhelming crit unarmed for free.
this would give 1d6 extra on a crit not much but most monks would welcome some extra damage.
i would also suggest this increase to 2d6 at l30 lvls of monk but i dont know if that can be done as the feat only adds 2d6 if the crit mutiplyer is x3 and fists are x2

Well, I believe you would also be obligated to take the Great Cleave feat as well.I think that you have to meet a strength requirement for overwhelming crit... If you make the effort to meet those requirements, why not just take the feat?

blystos what im saying is most monks will never meet the requirements for the feat. giving them the feat without them meeting the requirements is what im suggesting
and since everyone else has mass crit and giving them it for free at 20 lvls of monk for a whopping 1d6 isnt going to unblanace anything

Says in the wiki that Stronghearts get Weapon Finesse for free, but you can still take it as a feat...Amoenotep wrote:overwhelming crit doesn't stack with massive crits...and if someone gets overwhelming crit for free on their skin i don't think you can choose it for a feat later...but someone else is probably more knowledgeable than me
I don't see any reason that it would stack, and I don't see why anyone would take it twice if it didn't.

back to the subject it would be a nice little perk for unarmed monks and have practicly no impact on balance. its a shame we dont get 2d10 on the max fist damage as it is in NWN2 you get better averages with 2d10 than the horrible 1d20 the 1d6 crit bonus would help this a bit and make monks a tad bit better fighter class.
if someone actually does make a str monk and takes overwhelming crit i think he/she should just delete their character right away
.
but anyway, this is one of those things that would be nice, doesnt hurt anyone, and doesnt change much. an average of 3.5 more damage on a monk unarmed crit shouldnt make anyone cry. its just a matter of...do the dev's see this as important enough to change? ..probably not.
oh and theres the argument that monk gloves have more damage mods on them than other 'weapons' that aims to balance unarmed vs armed. fists of poseidon have what...like 4d6 extra elemental damage versus the 2d6 that other lvl 30 weapons normally have? not to mention the higher ab on the gloves and the access to gloves with large amounts of unresistable elements (pos/neg).
