MaDsKiLlZ Books
How about a book that would give generic skill points, say in the 2,5,10 point variety with the cost being 1000xp per point to be used on your next level-up.
So as to prevent a 40 with a million xp maxing out every skill.
The skill boosts would still follow the same rules as during level-up and could not exceed max points for a given level.
I believe this would be a nice addition for those that seem to be short a few skill points here and there.

nah.
ultimately in the long run all that will do is elevate everyones skill to all new higher levels, (making current gear inefficent, and throw off the very delicate "balance" that the devs have created for us).since xp does not have to be physically "found"

Fine then limit the number of books that can be used like the stat books.
I wasn't looking to unbalance anything but, to find a way to squeeze in a few points where you otherwise would be lacking.
I cant really see where 10 or even 20 skill points would unbalance anything. It would help to polish a build though.

This would also make the INT stat even less usefull then it already is. Most builds will have enough skill points for what they want to do and finding another way to get those skill points will just make builds more powerfull in other ways.Lorkar1 wrote:Fine then limit the number of books that can be used like the stat books.

I dont really plan my builds at all, kinda takes the fun out of it for me.
Yeah, I don't have the uber builds that need to take their 1/2 point in bluff at level 24.
But then again I spend my time playing not planning.
If I wanted to plan things I would have become a civil engineer.
And as far as finding +4 books to use, you have a better chance at finding a blue lobster in a seafood restaurant.

Actually, INT books in some cases are arguably the most useful of all. When one considers the number of skills needed for some melee toons - Discipline, Concentration, Taunt, Tumble, Listen or Spot, Perform, Spellcraft - you can see how 31 more skill points might be indispensable. This would also make the INT stat even less usefull then it already is.
