Non-weapon epic gear drop rate...

Post by CrazyJ »

...is waaaay too low.

Take a look at my store on the Reflection Trade forum for an example. That's all the stuff I've found and didn't want. In all that time, I have seen exactly TWO non-armor/non-weapon drops: A sorceror cloak and a set of Imbued Adamantine Threaded Boots (off of Ragnar). Everything else that's not armor or weapon has only dropped because it's specific to an enemy (ie Advisor's cloak on Cheery, Boots of Escape on Terran Emperor).

Most epic characters who don't have good connections (and few on Reflections do at this point) are running around with epic armor and weapons, and level 16 rings, boots, belts, and cloaks.

Noted - we can see if we can bump up the weighting in the database on those.

do epic rings even exist (yet) ? in all my time on the planes, i have yet to find one on either server.....

aye yes, sometimes certian things tend to drop more often than others -- like +6 poleaxes and clubs  ---but maybe not having the uber belts, boots, ammies drop any more frequently than they already are is a good thing :)

I'd like to see ammy drops bumped up a bit. Epic level ammo is bloody expensive, especially given how quick you burn through it at that level.

It took us 20+ tries at the Forge + several clearings of the Hall to get a sword to drop there on Reflections. Good luck on the plate, or the mace for that matter.

I don't believe an item that drops off a non-boss should be so rare that its non-existant....

We have more Drider Short Swords (artifact) than Holy Plates, I've killed countless High Priests. Only one has actually LEFT a remains, the others leave no remains whatsoever.

Wow, hadn't ever looked at that one before. Interesting blade. Is this on Prime or Reflections? J-Mart could use one of those in the stock.

Yeah, as stated before, artifacts are the Gold cards of Magic of the Gathering. They're rare, cool-lookin, and neat but mostly useless.

Lower damage, but it's a +2... so you hit a bit more often.

Could use a bump to d6 dmg though.

the other option besides upping the drops on the non-weapon/non-armor drops is to lower the drops rates on the weapon/armor/artifacts. this would make gear much more valuable. rare gear would be fun and meaningful...like books.
