Ban time
Ban time
Maybe this has been suggested before, but i think when a player gets banned, the DM doing the banning should either tell the player how long the ban is before booting them or there should be some post that DM's make somewhere telling how long the ban is. Otherwise how is a player supposed to know if he/she should reinstall with one of his/her other CD-keys?

I agree that a PM or e-mail explaining the reason for the ban and the duration would be a reasonable courtesy.
Bans are imposed upon players not characters. If you intend to use a different CD key to get in the game you are deliberately trying to circumvent the action imposed on you. If you play here you should respect and abide by the decisions made by the people running the show, even if you disagree. I would consider any attempt to work around a ban a reason to permanently ban a player.
Typical bans here have only been a day.

Usually bans start out as temp bans for 24 hours. We cannot tell you if you got a permanent ban right away (well ofcouse in some cases there is no doubt) since permanent banns are first discussed amoung the DM team.
We have never made any posts about why players was banned, booted, warned etc. (unless they promted us to do so) because we do not want other players to form a opinion of the player in question from what they read on the forums.

Aye.
I would also add that more often than not, players do not have the same login as players vs their login in here on the NS4 boards.
So, the (rhetorical) question becomes: who do we PM in here to convey the reasons for bans?

and the CDKEY redo is for those of us with the perma-ban.....which i seem to received... even after helping a ton of noobs and playing nice for a long time. one accidental "/s" before a statement about a DM or two and they ban me. guess people don't like to have their fantasy game power challenged. i wish everybody who felt like me about a couple of the DM's would boycott NS4 for a week, just to show them what the population would look like....but alas i know ye be cowards and addicts.

not true I was on when the alledged shout happened....
normally when this happens with any player a following of I'm sorry shouts happen after when they realize that they shouted.
I loggedd off shortly after so I am not sure if this occurred but if it didn't this might be y u weren't taken as a accidental shout more so the ''typical'' behaviour

acctually, you were kicked and banned by completely different dm's than the ones you were complaining about. you just got a fistfull of "straw that breaks the camel's back".
bringing your gripes to the boards is not a way to solve any of these problems and complaining more and more is definately not a way to make people feel they made a mistake.
i'm locking this before it turns into a super flame war dm style.
