This is an idea that has appeared in other mods and even though it may not come soon, it would still rock!!!
Mounts such as Dire Wolves for Dwarves and Halflings, War Horses for Human Folk and Elves, Perhaps something like Large Spiders for Drow and Raptures for Lizzies! Just a suggestion from out there.......
Gabrial (Fists of RK) [DW]
"The Big Cheese" AKA "Kraft" AKA "Cheddar"
Wow, that would be weird....to be able to ride something like a wolf. From D&D the small peoples rode "Riding Dogs" not dire wolves (I really wouldn't want to ride on something like that). As for actually implementing a system with rides, I think that might as well be on low priority for the DMs...
Requires Hak Pak = wont be a feature of Neversummer.
Sorry that has always been the rule for NS devs. Hak Paks restrict player access, and for all the poorly coded bells and whistles they add, its just not worth it.
*Computers are alot like air-conditioners. They work great until you open windows*
Yeah, I'm much more interested in seeing enough areas to get characters to level 40, jobs finished, a working guildhall, etc. rather than some Hak Pak induced eyecandy.

Doesnt these features come with the CEP? Yes, its a hak pack, but its generaly accepted as 'official' and most players have it...
No, the developers of NS4 have made a conscious choice to avoid using any Hak Paks or other content requiring download and installation on the player side, for a number of reasons:
Quality of content varies widely, and can sometimes be incompatible with certain configurations.
We are proud to be 56k and ISDN-friendly, and do not want to burden users with additional downloads or lag and network delays caused by added content.
NS4 also strives to embrace players who don't want to upgrade their machines every year to the "latest and greatest" technology. Some hak pak content is murder on older graphics cards and CPUs, and we don't want to diminish the experience for anyone.
The gameplay and features of NS4 speak for themselves, and while some Hak content may be quite pretty, it is often used as a distraction to avoid focusing on the module proper.
That said, if player support is strong enough, there is always the possibility that custom content and Hak Paks (such as the newly released Community Expansion Pack) will be included, eventually. It all depends on you!
