Targetting Spells

I've noticed that I can target teammates or summons by their portrait in the upper right with a call lightning, this make it really wasy to target the center of a fray and hit the most targets.

Would there be any way of doing this to yourself while in the middle of the fray to hit the most targets?

I'v found that I can target any non offensive spells on myself just using the portrait, handy when those buffs start wearing off and your in the middle of a mob war (pun intended). The same goes with team mates and non offensive spells, had never thought to try offensive spells that way though.

Quick note on this: If you've leveled up you use your portrait and can no longer use it to cast on yourself.

I think that what was meant was that when you gain the xp for a lvl, but have not yet taken that level, your character portrait changes to the levelup icon. You can't click on it to get your char sheet, or more importantly, to target yourself. I think having the levelup right at your fingertips doesn't matter so much, since you can still get to it on your character sheet, and not being able to quickly target yourself in a fight with a lot of mayhem going on is not good. Change for NWN2?

This actually happened to me last night! I gained a level in the middle of a fairly tough fight, when I was trying to use somewhat guerilla tactics (at the gnoll fort, you know, walk in invis, finger of death tickles a mystic, run out and shut the gate which the gnolls are too dumb to open, horrid wilting at the base of the gate yada yada yada).

Anyway, since I had enemies in front of me, it was better to use a HK than a potion for no attack of opp. Bad part about using HKs for yourself is that you gotta click on yourself! It's hard to do that when you can't use your portrait, but instead have to zoom in and make extra sure you click on yourself and don't heal one of those nasty gnolls instead.
