They may not be as great as the ones at avendale, but at least players here can sell up to level 13+ items (but not level 16+ items) to the merchants. It would be a nice thing to do for those cute stop-overs and also an alternative way for players to sell inventory items when servers, say for example server4(avendale server), are down. It's a good way to support the economy

New Stores...
Aside from the usual stores in faction homes and at avendale, how about you put up merchants in the stores at the blackhills inn, the one at the western canyon (forgot the name), beryn lodge, etc, etc.

I would prefer to see merchants willing to buy any quality item but have a cap on how much they will pay per item. For example the shops in the faction cities might pay as much as 30k for each item, shops in Avendell 50k and perhaps some shops in distant locations more. It might also help slow down the mass influx of gold into the economy.
I tend to agree with Nemesis.
Adding stores in the blackhills inn, archeologist camp, etc would make thoses places worth going to.
That would also spread the load on the servers, especially if some servers are down.
All the shop keepers need not to be there... just one maybe two.

In addition to what has been said, there should be items unique to a particular factions stores. Have a standard base of items like what is now implemented and add a few unique ones pending on what faction the store is in. i found it disapointing the first time i travled to Garagoth from Menzo and found that their shops sold the same stuff. Also there could be npc's scattered through out the land which are selling a unique item or two
