I think that'd be a nice Idea.

I'm thinking the Dev's want to keep Raise Dead knida rare though. but how about this Idea. Scrolls of Raise Dead, and or Spells cast by the cleric, Cost xp for the user as well as the Dead character. I know it would make ME think twice before raiseing a stranger from a diff faction.

Well, that punishes the cleric for using a spell he's supposed to have, which would stop some players from using the spell. An easy way to check usability of Raise Dead Scrolls would be two things,

1) Put an ILR on the item, making it only useable after lvl 9

2) Make the scrolls a lot of money, making them hard for low lvl chars to have them.

In the PnP version(sorry thats my ground basis for comparison) lvl 16's should have a couple raise dead scrolls, just in case the unimaginable happens, so to should high lvl chars in NS4

Meh I vote you let all players craft raise dead scrolls, but for 2-10 times the exp and gold cost a cleric would pay. To compensate for the fact your class normally can't raise dead. I mean if you spend 400 exp or so for 1 raise dead scroll, I think they won't be all over the place .

I disagree with the previous post. Sure I'd like to see more raise dead scrolls around, but at the cost of giving up something that is unique to one character class? No.
Hell with raise dead, we need Ressurection while we're at it.

the problem with making them high cost is that they would have to cost 1 mil apeice since gold is so easy to get in ns4


in my travels i have found quit a few rez scrolls but never any raise dead scrolls and the rez scrolls can only be used by clerics

If the scrolls cost 75k per scroll, you don't just buy one...you buy ten. Now that is 750k which is a generous amount....then, assuming other items have high value, that makes money suddenly really important. Make money important and maybe 750k will mean more.

While playing I’ve seen shouts to buy raise dead scrolls, and I’ve had a friend Cleric make some for my character. If this it what the devs were looking for (more player interaction) from my experience you’ve got it. I say leave them out and let the player characters drive that part of the economy.

ive shouted several times to buy them with no response it seems the only way you can get them is to have a friend with a cleric or make your own cleric

Exactly, I've shouted for some several times but it seems that I'm going to have to make a cleric to get any, since none of my personal friends play NWN at all. Its not like I don't have the money, I have 15 mil burning a hole in my pocket on one char alone. Not to mention several boss drops.

For me right now, I only make them for my husband because of the xp loss, it is hard to get xp for us drow, but after I am leveled to 16 , I will be more willing to part with my xp .

Are raise dead scrolls now usable by anyone? As far as I know there have been problems with non-cleric or classes without UMD being able to use them. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

well as gold so far in the beta have been extremely plentifull and with nothing to spend it on there's really nothing you can trade for some raise scrolls..my animal/healer cleric was walking around with 10million+ gold with no need for healingpotions or anything else.. why start selling scrolls to loose xp that it takes like 100 goblins to get back? anyway i've started giving away scrolls now just cuz there's nothing else to do

mabe sell them for 100k each, limited to lvl 10+ ?
