No, that is why I wrote longterm 
. Unless you mean you need a PDK in an epic run. But I have been in runs without a PDK, and we did well. Now without a bard or cleric, it is a lot harder.

PDK basically means that your party has a lot of people who don't cap AB/AC with song/AVA and you need the extra boost + attack per round. Its great, but certainly not essential, especially if your main damage and tanks are evil aligned.
