I seem to have come across that issue with tons of zons spawning.

What had happened was...
I got killed
No one around to res, so I logged on a different character
Finally found someone to help res me
Logged back in to the slave area with my dead PC, noticed it was a bit crowded.
Relogged again and it got even more crowded.

I assume there is some issue with the script or whatever that is in place to help fix broken areas.

do you use TAG or AXE?

Happens all the time in Zons. I have a screenshot somewhere in the Hills area where there were, like, 50 lanceresses. It seems to happen an awful lot in Zons for some reason...

Yea, I know its only been a day but theres something...wrong with Zons. A partner we had has seen but one Ritualist Helm drop since the wipe (Huntress Eva), but thats the only thing drop-wise. The main problem is the freaky spawn, which gets out of hand considering the lanceresses.

Our group had a Rapier Weapon Master, Heavy Flail disarming Dwarven Defender, and a Double Axe Dwarven Defender (me). I had just got level 30 with Armor Skin, 12 DD DR, 44 AC (48 in stance), and we all had 450+ hp.

We mopped all the bosses, and so we headed back to the first map to let them respawn. Two Dwarven Defenders and a Weapon Master that critted nearly every time she hit died. In the first map. I don't know if that was the map's normal spawn or double, but something, somewhere, went horribly wrong.

Scroll up for Jester's screenshot if you didn't already see it :wink: . It seems this happens way more often in Zons then anywhere else. It happened to Gary before also. Heres the screenshot.

noticed the lagspikes some ppl have with zons (including me) is coming from the lanceresses, been testing with a friend on different classes and weapons....

if he took out a barbarian toon and go waving a 2handed weapon (any 2handed) lagspikes came up for me every time he went into combat. No lag spikes occured when he changed back to a 1handed weapon. Neither spikes were coming from other classes with 2handed weaps.

Maybe something to look at for the devs whats actually wrong with the barbarian class and the 2handweapons. Not all players have these lagspikes, but believe me when you have them you won't like the amazons anymore :cry:

I've never seen the Ritualist Helm drop... ever. Ditto for the Dervish Bow (it supposedly drops, I've never heard of anyone getting one).

I noticed those with my Double Axe, I don't carry a single-handed weapon so I couldn't tell you if it disappeared or not. My double axer isn't a barbarian, so the lag spikes aren't restricted to the Barbarian class only. Quipper (Heavy Flail) experienced them too.

I experienced one that I thought was a crash, but ended up being one of the longest lag spikes I've ever experienced. I guess I forgot about it, because when the spike was over all the damage was calculated and we were all uninjured with everything dead.

Sounds like there is definitely something up with zons.
The super-spawns, the increased rate of crashing, the lag with certain weapons.

speaking of super spawns --

quasi - off topic, but related enough since it deals with ub3r spawns.

the Blood Ammonites in HoD tend to multiply if you dont kill them right
away, which is normal from what i understand ......
but last nite we had one single ammonite break instantly into at least 20+
spawns ...was impossible to count b/c they overlapped... a party of 5 or 6
people died within 3 or 4 seconds :shock: ...i belive this first massive
spawn crashed the server -- it happened to us again and created a
massive lag bubble and slaughtered the party yet again...the lag made it
impossible to even move :o ... i believe melikki was overseeing us at
the time tho and came to our aid :wink: ...i dont have SS's but celorn or
the others who were with us might....


if we are concerned about over-spawning causing massive lag/crashes
then there is a prime example there....

(sorry for the wierd text format...but someone *cough * jester* cough*
insisted on overextending the viewable range of the thread >>>>>> :lol:

Easy answer for the ammonites would be to put in place a timer.
split / turn.


As for posting beyond this viewable range of the thread. Pfft. Taht's your fault. Set your desktop to use a higher resolution.

I use medium resolution, 1600x1200 on a 18" viewable area monitor.
No horizontal scroll bars for me 8)

My SS was at the original resolution i use to play the game (highly compressed using jpeg format)... only 1280x960 :( I feel like a n00b :P

Lucky, thats happened to me twice and no aid. Maybe its because I'm a dwarf and our god has forsaken us for Italy (lol).

Seriously, I heard it was supposed to do that, but it needs to have a limit. The Blood Amnioted have an aura that does around 6 or so damage each round. Imagine 40 Blood Amniotes all overlapped attacking you, it totals up so fast that even when I casted 8 Mass Heals in 4 rounds with Healing Domain on pure cleric we all died. Our monk with 76 AC died too.

aye, the lag created by the massive simultanious spawn made it impossible to survive, not that we would have anyways...

tonite tho, it seemed to be a bit more normal...we had one split , but it only divided into 2....which makes logical sense....maybe the scripts stacked up all at once...kinda like those 600 dmg fireblasts that happen every once and a while on the fire plane :lol:

The logging in dead with nobody else in the zone almost always seem to cause this -- it's happened to me where there are 2 bosses in the same zone - ie: 2 grand mystics. And it's happened to raiders of the LA cradle, one time I came in and all the NPCs had doubled inside the castle since the raider logged inside it dead.

As for the HoD incident(S) Bah! I did press printscreen but I got no shots of it!! Just imagine 24 red jello jigglers sliding around on a dungeon floor where several corpses are lying.

I just wonder if party size/(or just number of PCs in proximity) has anything to do with the blood ans division?, because when I've been to HoD with a party of around 6, this has happened 2 of the 3 times with that size of party, yet I've been there about 10 times with a party of 2 or 3 and this didn't happen at all.

ALSO one day I was in the plane of air with 1 other and within 20 minutes my partner and her summon died to 'random' electrical damage -- I mean around 45 damage, over 20 times in a row! It hit the undead summons for 6-8 damage each time - what are the odds that the same toon would be hit with a random mega-explosion 3 times in the same plane and the other toon in the party didn't get hit at all? I thought lightning didn't strike the same place twice :).
