Loot disappearing?
Loot disappearing?
Just in case others have seen it: I've noticed a few times now that when I id a loot bag on the ground with the book, one or two of the items that are listed as id'd are gone when I open the bag. As far as I know, no one was nearby (player or dm) that could take the items. I'll test it more carefully next time it happens in case the items are invisible.
Sorry, but the developers made this great tool for us to use that allows us to id loot before you pick it up, so you don't have to pick up stuff you don't want. I'm wondering if I've stumbled upon some sort of bug with it. I'm going to continue to use it and report any other problems I find. You can do what you want.watchwood wrote:Pick up the gear first, then ID it.

What tool are you using to ID the bags?
I attempted to "use" the book on a bag, but nothing happened. No loot was IDed. Nothing. The only time I get an option to do anything with the book is when I use it on myself. Then I get the Identify option. But, unless I am in a party, the only option is to ID myself.
Which has no effect on the bag lying on the ground...
Perhaps I am doing something wrong? But it would be very helpful to ID an entire bag rather than one item at a time.
Thank

The book each character has at the start, the one with options to roll dice, emote, and id. If you quickslot the book and set the correct option, then you can press that quickslot, point to a loot bag, and all items in the bag will be id'd with your current lore. And it gives those mischevious shadow dancers / DMs time to pick through your loot!Myrdyr wrote:The book each character has at the start, the one with options to roll dice, emote, and id. Heres a fun trick: unless it was changed recently, using the spell "Silence" on yourself would reveal all players nearby, including hidden ones, by showing in the text that they were either able or unable to resist the spell. This includes DMs, oddly enough.
But, it's such a draining job that, until you've DMed on an NWN server yourself, you the playerbase, have got to cut the DMs some slack. - Flailer
So you can find others by shutting up and looking for them? That's clever.
