"invalid character file" after reset?

a friend is getting an error on logging in:"invalid character file"
character is
"dion necromonger II", 4th level.

is there anything that can be done to restore this character or get past this error?

pm zing with all the relevant info..account name, char name, server..he'll look into when he gets a chance.

that's ok, its faster to just relevel at this point. i was just checking to see if anybody's seen this before or has a quick fix (hate the grind lol)
